Hello! This is Skyrunner here. I'd like to introduce a certain game. It is called The Great Age of Sail. The focus here is on trade.

PPS: You are very welcome to RP in your turns. In fact, if you RP while haggling, I can and will give you some kind of bonus for your efforts.
Premise
Congratulations! You have successfully graduated from the Naval Academy/ Merchants' School / Adventurer College without dying of boredom! Now, you can eke out your living as a captain of a fine boat. But first, you have to choose your path, and fill out the ship owner register form.
The game this was based on, Uncharted Waters Online slash The Great Age of Sail, has a decently steep learning curve. The RPer beware!
Must read rules!Each city has a list of trade goods. When anyone first gets to a city, that city's trade goods list will be revealed in a Google Docs spreadsheet. You can buy trade goods... but not as much as you want, sadly. The amount of goods you can buy depends on that good's corresponding Trade skill level. The default number is in the spreadsheet. If you are a citizen of that nation, you get to buy 2 times more. You should multiply your trade skill bonus to that default number to get the maximum you can buy in one visit. If you want to buy more, go to the closest city near you and come back. You can buy the max number again.
When you get to a city, you can sell x number of goods. You can sell multiple goods at once. Actually, you should sell all your goods at once. The price depends on (1) distance from that good's closest supplier (2) difference in cultural area (3) current price. Every time someone visits a city, the whole world's prices change.
Also, there are things called "specialty goods". They are produced in only one or two cities, and bring you a bonus to the entire sale. But you need to sell 50 of one specialty to get that bonus. Selling more than 50 of more than one kind of specialty gives you a bigger bonus.
Just post "Travel to []", and it will be done. Each day you are at sail, each sailor gets paid some. Sailing nets you adventurer experience.
If a privateer/blockade/pirate fights you, fear not! On the first turn of combat, you can ALWAYS run away for no damage and 100% success rate. On the other hand, if you do want to fight, find out later. >.>
There are three, yes three types of levels. There are Adventurer levels, Merchant levels and Soldier levels. They influence the skills you can buy and the number of skills you can know. Also, they decide what ships you can use.
Jobs: Jobs are not a rigid framework dedicated to keeping you from doing stuff. They are specializations. Jobs have the following benefits:
ALL of that job's Preferred skills can be bought regardless of level restriction!
The job's Specialized skill can be trained up to level 20, compared to non-specialized 15.
Having a job enhances that job's category's level.
You can become a job again even after you change it.
Jobs are easy to change, but some jobs require tokens or skill levels to get.
