I've recently gotten hold of a Android phone with quite decent spec. I've been browsing for some apps to download when I noticed some really awesome old pc games have received ports.
Most of these ports have big flaws and are much better to play on the keyboard but are still worth trying out.
Of the interesting and free stuff I found on android market:
OpenTTD - abysmal to play on a 4 inch touchscreen
Duke Nukem 3D - i was overjoyed when I saw someone made such a port but unfortunately the controls are bad. You can'y aim and shoot at the same time.
Ur-Quan Masters - proabably the best port I've noticed so far.
HoMM 2 and
3 - could also potentially be good. The version of 3 that I noticed allows only for hotseat play and no campaign or skirmishes.
I'll post more if I can find.
I was hoping someone made an XCOM port for Android as it could probably work quite well.
Post if you know of other classics ported to modern mobile devices. Also discuss what game you think would do well if ported.
Also just saying that this isn't piracy. Most of these games are either open source or require some core files from a pc install to work.
Wow I've just found a port for Infinity Engine games

If only the text can be zoomed in to be readable I'm gold.
