To be completely honest, I'm stalling until the sisters can join up with Tiruins char. :3

Edit: Alright, on looking at the map, I think he's allll the way down South...

Has anyone here read the Kingpriest Trilogy (Dragonlance)? I've put some serious thought in fashioning my next character after Beldinas.

Caboose, you've betrayied the evil undead; that is not how I raised you, young man! What would your recently deceased distant cousin, Geoffrey, think!?

Yup, Tiruin is in Thelewawen/Southern Elven Territory. I think he's about to go on a big adventure himself, but he needs help.

They were going to, but I think they might have decided not to.

Mad Liches, Rebellious Vampires, Undead Warlocks... There is a surprising abundance of immortal undead running amock. You ought to do something about it, good/neutral PCs, or you will soon find the continent isn't quite as lively as it used to be.

Atheist rebellious vampires, get your facts straight, old man!

Caboose, you've betrayied the evil undead; that is not how I raised you, young man! What would your recently deceased distant cousin, Geoffrey, think!?

The irony of this being that Caboose was abandoned in the woods when he was a little kid, being forced to raise himself.

Should I have gained a bit of knowledge on stonebolt from Azthor constantly throwing them at me, or does my Cognitive Magic ability only work on NPCs to keep balance?

While I actually forgot about that during the fights with Melritch; You have absolutely zero skill/knowledge in stone magic, so I'm unsure of what to do now.

Aninimouse, do spells usually have a Vocal component?

Also, Melritch isn't weak due to being a skeleton, he is weak because his STR stat has but a single point in it; just look at the bone construct, does it have muscles? No, but it could still tear down a wall.

I wonder if turning a dead mage into a zombie will result in a spell-casting zombie...

Probably not, zombies have been shown to be supremely dumb so far. You'd probably need more advanced a necromancy spell to have them retain spellcasting.

True...
I wonder what needs to be done to turn a dead mage into an undead spellcaster, then? I'm sure I don't have the skills for it, but...

It's odd how I'm turning into a necromancer. I originally wanted to consort with demons and stuff instead...but zombies are just a lot more fun so no complaints here.

I am not sure as to wheter your background allows for it, but Melritch has shown to be capable of raising sentient undead in an adequate workshop. That has only worked for PCs so far, so it might require a certain level for you to get away with raising NPCs that way.

Well, he learned lightning bolt from watching a storm, and I never stated he had any knowledge at that point. So it's kind of up to you here.
You can either have him learn spells he has no knowledge in only at certain plot points, or you could make it so that he can learn spells at all times, he just can't use them until he gains skill in its category.

Aninimouse, do spells usually have a Vocal component?

I'm not saying skeletons can't be strong and destructive like the construct thing, I'm saying they just weren't intended for physical labor. That's what zombies are for.

That's left for the Players to decide for themselves.

And about raising intelligent undead: It is possible, it just requires a lot more EP and, in some cases, special reagents/items. But if you raise a recently deceased being from the dead, they do retain a small amount of intelligence, and are capable of learning, Albeit very slowly. (So that includes Bubbles, Fritz, and Igor)
