It just occurred to me that I can't technically win this fight, Azthor. Your only major loss is your staff and a few corpses.

And Azthor told me in his PM that he wouldn't 'permanently kill' you if he won himself.

Do note that as a 243 year lich, one can assume his last death left him RATHER crippled, after all, it is unlikely that a level 1 mage could have both performed such a ritual and lasted for over two centuries. Also, I am fleeing because that gnome is simply too damn tough to kill off without a full mana pool or uncovering a way of improving MP regeneration. If you somehow get killed in the next moments, it is likely that Chompski will have you ressurected, if the setting allows for it.

Another Death wouldn't be nearly that crippling, so don't worry about that. But regarding Caboose being resurrected, he wouldn't be. Even if they did bother attempting to resurrect him, they'd realize who he was before they actually did. Caboose is a wanted criminal.

Oh well, as long as he isn't cremated I can still come back and reanimate him once the alert dies down. In fact, necromancer or no necromancer, religion may well force them to bury him all the same.

Death is quite a bit more finite for a magical sparkly tattoo sunshine elf(irony!) than it is for a lich.

Well, just wait until I turn Melritch into a... DEMILICH! Not really, that would be imbalanced except other players were already controlling whole kingdoms.

On a side note, do reanimated NPCs lose the defense/resistance they had in life?

Also, while we are at it, can I create stronger undead by spending EP when in an appropriate... "laboratory"? Or, alternatively, are there other spells which can raise NPCs as something other than a zombie, such as a ghoul or even an skeleton? I really need to create a few thug level mooks, zombies are great chaff but are only really useful for as long as there is magic support.

Yes. There's also a 'Special' skill called Bonesmithing, for creating permanent minions and such using bones.

You can already raise NPCs as Skeletons, if they're just a skeleton already. I wouldn't see all that much use in summoning an NPC as a skeleton if they still had flesh/armour though. They'd get piercing resistance, but they'd have less total health.

Is it possible to make an "intimidate" check or something of the sort?
I'd rather like to take the last guard alive, and I have a feeling that after killing his two companions I could maybe feign having a bunch of mana left or something...
