Out of combat regeneration works a lot differently than in combat regeneration, it's usually quite a bit faster. If you were to attack Chris right now, you'd have full mana. In combat, mana regenerates at a rate of 1 point per turn, unless you're casting a spell.

So 13 damage is a small increase at level 1, eh?

You also got lucky and got +11 from your Willpower/Intelligence.

Seeing as my character history states Caboose can learn magic by watching, would a be able to stare at the mana drain things and learn their secrets?

Probably not, at least not without staring at it for a pretty long time. The magic in Enchantments and similar things is very different from the kind you use to cast spells.

I have skill in enchanting, which is why I asked. I plan on reverse engineering it once I'm "free."

Sorry, for some reason I completely missed the link here in the first post. I'll continue on our discussion here so as not to clutter up the RP thread. ^^^ So...

What are Chris' feelings on becomig a Skeleton Warrior? Also, how much mana do I have left after the stonebolt and create undead/how does regeneration work?

I might prefer that Death Knight thing you were talking about if it means I'm still mostly human (light rot at most, I mean) and can do mostly human things (eat, sleep, walk around without being detected as undead and not burst into flames in sunlight, etc). ^^^

(Liches have a warrior equivalent, the Death Knight. Their weapons act as phylacteracies of sorts, and they gain minor magical capabilities, coupled with their original physical prowess. Regardless, if your full armor keeps being applied to all arcane attacks, I've lready lost. I have one arcane bolt casting left and the elementals have, together, five. If I get a maximum roll on my attacks, you'd take 5+7 = 12 damage, leaving you at 9 HP. Past that, I'd need to bludgeon you dead, which means you get to strike directly at me, in my 10 HP/3.5 defense glory. The only way I'd stand a chance is if he staff's blunt damage completly ignores your armor and I max out both attacks, with your first atack + your second attack - 7 being less than 10).

PS: Usually it is the other way around, Linear Warriors Quadratic Wizards. An apprentice is easily beheaded by a squire, but an archmage can utterly annihilate legions of knights.

(Well, you could always choose C. Wizards need tanks anyway and I'd be happy to team up, I can find an in-character reason to justify it. ^^^)

Oh, I intend to team up with you, it just so happens tha his deranged mind would prefer if you were a bit less... lively... during your adventurers. Think about all the immunities you'd get outta of becoming undead!

Hmm. What would becoming a Death Knight entail? You could try talking me into it in-character. :3

Well, there are bad and good things about being a Death Knight. The worst ones, in your case, is that they share several traits with skeletons and liches, hence, you really do NOT look alive, although full plate armor may somewhat conceal your appearance. As for the pluses... Limiteded magical capacity, possibility of revival as long as your weapon is intact, immunity to critical strikes, poison immunity, disease immunity and infinite stamina (or rather, lack of it).

Sounds good, but neither of my weapons are of worthy quality for storing a soul. XP Would it be possible to transfer it from one blade to another later on when I found a more fitting sword?

So you two do intend to actually team up? Your (Azthor) Arcane Elementals were pretty weak because of the OP-ness of Magic vs Players early in the game. I mean, you have two of them attacking, along with yourself. They'd each deal 8 Damage, then you'd deal 11-22 Damage. You would have insta-gibbed him. I will turn up the heat a little more now that I know you want to team up though. :P

Yes it can be transfered, there is only one condition if we go by the classic ruleset, it has to be a weapon of the same type. It also goes without saying that sentient and consecrated weapons are unusuable.

Just going to clarify that this would be correct, but:

No complete immunity to critical strikes, and limited magical capacity isn't necessarily true.

I kinda figured I wouldn't get ALL the benefits. ^^^; Anyway, I guess Death Knight it is, pending a loss, with the soul going in the sword rather than the axe.

REALIZATION EDIT: *selfsmack* A Death Knight is basically evil Ash from Army of Darkness, isn't it? Yeah, that'd be cool. :D

Can spells be combined as long as they're the same type?
