As for the combat systems, don't really mind either, but keep in mind the fact that if you're going to have armies of any sort that bottom one will get tedious beyond belief.

I've done combat with that system before, It was horrible at first, but once I got used to it it was going almost just as quickly as the old combat system was.

It's two mana per intelligence point I do believe

I've never seen a system have will dictate damage and intelligence dictate mana total. I at least know how to invest now.
