The current system allows for switching between either mode thanks to time being absolutely worthless, but the SS takes out that ambiguity. You need to manage your time well, and try to accomplish as much as possible in a small area in a small amount of time. Those kinds of restrictions are bad for those who don't care about leading or conquering and just want to travel around or explore new areas fighting crap.

Exactly, but actually: So far in Medieval I don't think anyone has even spent more than an ingame week doing stuff, in 70 pages. Even just having a month to do what you want would be a very long time, the restrictions would actually be hurting the people who want to lead or conquer more than it would the Adventure-Players.

A good adventure typically involves running across a continent without a map or any idea of where you're going in an attempt to find the next random big place to wander through in search of a treasure that most certainly isn't there.

That is one scary patrol, I was going to turn tail and flee, but I thought it over once more and figured that'd defy the whole point of playing a deranged Lich. Please, do tell me they don't hit for 30+ damage consistently.

And they'd have plenty of time to do that, unless they play as much as possible, I don't think the Month-by-Month playing would be as restrictive as it sounds.

They do, do a lot of damage, and they have a magic user with them. The magic user would be likely to know to aim for you first... And you have pretty low health.

Does the ambush round count as a free action or do they immediatly counterattack? If it is the later, scratch the stonebolt and exchange it with an arcane ward.

Note: while mages may often circumvent the situation at hand, as MIGHT be Melritch's case, wouldn't even an optimized 3rd level warrior be hard pressed against a single one of these level 3 guards?

Don't you dare lose to anyone until I get the chance to kill you, Azthor. Even if that means running like a coward from half of the world, don't you dare die.

It's pretty much all "Free" actions until they notice you and your minions.

A 3rd Level warrior, with average gear could probably take on two or three of them at the most, as a guess.

Are you sure? They have the equivalent to 20 SP just in health. Then again, average equipment may well translate to a defense of over 20, as the copper items I've seen so far are probably low-end.

And "Average" armour would include some random enchantments, which an adventurer would have been finding in caves and such by now.

Azthor, are you really sure you want to fight them? You don't really have much to lose, and you would just be revived at your tower if you died: But you're still under level 5, and I don't like letting people under level 5 get into too much trouble. :P

It is true that I fear that either the crossbowman or the mage will snipe Melritch dead. Sure, he should have some piercing resistance, but that is unlikely to suffice. Oh well, I will call off the attack.

Have you caught my inability to focus, or are you just busy working on modieval?

Both working on Modieval, and the new Forum Game I started. I'll get around to replying to Medieval again in a bit.

Edit: It's nothing like Medieval, but I suppose some of you might actually be interested in it. There's still a Second Group that needs filling with Players:

Hmmm... Nassati, King of the Jungle. From the History, I imagine his alignment would be somewhere on the Good side of the spectrum? That could make some upcoming events very interesting...

Leading the Jungle itself into the potentially upcoming war against Melritch the Mad? :P
