Also, PVP resistance alone does not render the arcane bolts harmless, you only couldn't hurt Melritch because, other than said advantage, he was also packing a combined arcane resistance of 7, whereas yours is but 3.

My arcane resistance is 4, with pvp resistance would render them dealing around one or two damage, presumably. You just had overkill resistance. If not for your PvP resistance, you'd have died by now. I'd call shenanigans on this, but I don't see why I should since you only have ten health.
(assuming damage = 1) An arcane ward blocks all of their damage plus three stone-thingy damage. I'd take five. You'd need at least a ten damage bonus to kill me.
(assuming 2) An arcane ward blocks all but two damage, plus eight stone-thingy, you'd need at least a bonus of 5.

Mathematics!

[EDIT] Totally wasn't expecting damage from your guys to equal zero. My mathematics! No!

Melritch has a SP bonus of 4-23... :D

I never told the elementals to attack you though, I was saving them to kill the Dark Blue Guard then try and finish you off if Melritch failed.

There currently are no special PVP Resistances for either of you. Magic Resistance is (Magic Resistance (All)) + (Magic Resistance (Element)) + (Defense / 2).

As far as Arcane Bolts go:

Melritch has 3 (All) + 4 (Arcane) + 1 (Defense).

Caboose has 0 (All) + 4 (Arcane) + 4 (Defense).

The Arcane Elementals only deal 8 Damage, they don't deal any damage at all through those resistances to either of you.

A game... where... defense adds... magic defense?! My world is falling apart.

Math is going insane, recalculating.

4(def) + 8(ward) = 12 blocked
8(stone) + 19(min bonus required) = 27
12(blocked) - 27(min required) = -15

A minimum of 19 bonus damage needs to be attained. RNG gods, help me.

Not to be implemented during this fight, but for the future. Don't chain/plate armors bear penalties to speed/spellcasting? Except clothing's EP limits scales quickly or armors made from stronger materials don't improve all that much, not encasing yourself into a Tin Tyrant seems like a waste.

Note: I of all people am the one most displeased with your 16 damage soaking. Not all that terrible right now, but just think of a Steel Full Plate Armor. Meanwhile, clothing probably remains with the same EP limit and no defense, and consequently, magic damage soaking, to show for it. Of course, there may be special materials, but they'd be nowhere near as common as manufacturable alloys.

Also, in 1d23 I need at least a 19 to kill you, you have a chance of well over 75% chance of surviving.

RNG gods are melancholic punks. They don't like probability, so my chance is 1/23 or, in RNG god terms, 1/screwed.

They do have penalties to Speed/Sprinting, but not spellcasting. Armour, save for armour made from materials like Silver and Gold, have relatively low EP limits, while cloth armour has a high EP limit.

You can easily make up for that lost defense/Enemy's high defense with Enchanting.

Well, material progression for cloth isn't as obvious as a metal, so, what would be the next in line for EP limit after Linen?

Wool would be the next 'common' material.

I really expected wool to be a previous one I had skipped. So, just out of curiosity... Is there any sort of equivalent to adamantine, if the metal even exists? Yes, DF does make one awfully biased towards said metal, even if it is rarely used as the best material availiable.

Adamantine does exist, but there is another known metal called Titanite that's on par with it. Adamantine provides the highest Defense, but Titanite provides a higher EP Limit at the cost of Defense.

If you were an extremely wealthy Mage, Titanite Plate Armour could end up being a good investment, but you'd need to waste some of its EP on +Strength so you could use it to its fullest, and you still wouldn't be able to sprint properly.

Mythril is also good for Spellcasters, as it's lightweight and you wouldn't need to waste much EP on strength to use it, and sprinting wouldn't be completely hindered.

Is there such a thing as a jeweled dragon hide cloak or artifacts whose proprierties are beyond mortal enchanting?

If you sent sharp jewels rocketing towards a dragon at high speeds, then skinned their corpse and made a cloak, yes.

And, yes, there are. You're stepping pretty close to the current 'underlying plot' by speaking of that, by the way.

Also, I think the RNG gods are mocking lillipad.

It would appear that Caboose is the current tallest character by at least a foot. SerCon's character seems to be the second or third tallest, as no definite height was given. I need to find me a basketball court.

Also, how are the RNG gods mocking me?

[EDIT] RNG gods!
