I see. I'm going to go look them up.

-returns-

Those things are kinda fucked up looking... but I guess I know what the next CvRTD encounter will be. :3

The best way to get over a fear is to confront it, Phantom.
So I'll just go ahead and make owlbears. It'll help the both of us out

Nah, dude. Make bearowls. I want to see miniature little bears with wings flying about and mauling people with their teddy-bear like teeth and claws. :3

Why not make both?
When I go to war, squadrons of bearowls will be led by their formidable Owlbear lieutenants.

That is relatively tame compared to the dreams I have had of owlbears.

Don't worry, I'll be sure to make Atropals too. What sort of crazy warlock scheme would be complete without a stillborn god?

I was not really refering to how Fugly they are. Rather, it is all about them being divine undead horrors whose very negative energy field is capable of instantly slaying any living creatres with 10 or less Hit Dice within 30 feet. Of course, the ECH does have stronger monsters: Xixecals, Phaetons, Hechantocheires, Demiliches with Class Leves, Devastation Vermins, Dream Larvaes and Force/Prismatic Great Wyrms. There are also two templates which bring about great Fun: Paragon and Pseudonatural.

Sorry I wasn't on the past two days, but I'll probably be on for a good bit later today.

Just out of curiosity...
Suppose I were to acquire a bear, and an owl. Now, I'm not suggesting anything to trite as the creation of an owlbear, but let's just use those an example. What would I need to do, in order to create an amalgamation of the two? A blending, perhaps. We'll call it a bearowl.
Suppose I wanted to do this with any two creatures? Or if I wanted to take a creature, and modify it. Say, give it magical abilities or some-such.

That's a bit advanced, so that would be for Ezriel to figure out. :P Although, it'd be safe for you to assume it would require at least a small amount of EP.

And, as far as creating weapons of magical mass destruction go. How about that? Like, if I wanted to modify the telescope so that I can cast spells over a wide-swath of area. Maybe not just for destructive purposes, I'm sure some druid could use it to end a drought or something.

Same answer goes for this, although; While the Telescope idea is a good one, it'd require a lot of EP and probably wouldn't be very cost effective at all. The greater the distance a spell (Or object/creature being teleported) has to travel, the more energy it would consume, and large distances do cost a lot more magical energy than you'd probably expect. They could make for good defensive weapons though, just casting the spells right into the forest outside of the tower for instance, would be a lot less costly.

Well, shucks buster. That sort of shelves the "telescope of doom" project.

Is it possible to add a secondary "power source" to the telescope, to draw mana from in place of my own?

Expect to require something the likes of a Mythallar, something which just so happens to put a Mythal, an epic artifact, to shame. That is my way of saying that except you create/find an item of incredible power, you will be stuck with slow and unreliable generators, simply due to how game-breaking such a feature can be.

Well, it wouldn't need to be a singular artifact.

For example, I could modify the telescope and have that as a stand-alone.
Then I could acquire some alternate mana-source other than myself (I'm thinking the life-force of captive living creatures or something?), and then find a means to use said mana-source when casting through a focus such as the telescope.

Well, given how there are, indeed, runes capable of recharging EP, that might be possible. Still, remember that it is a heavily inefficient method and you'd need to go through great lenghts to supply the telescope with a decent alternative MP inflow, as such a source is likely to be even rarer than the EP's. Aninimouse will probably allow you to have it work on "blood batteries", but there woud be karmic backlashes, as no civilization will take kindly to having its denizens kidnapped to power an eldritch device.

I'm attempting to make a doomsday device, I hardly think any civilizations will be very happy about this to begin with.
The trick is to keep it secret, until I've got enough batteries to be a threat.
