You leave your home to find that the city is now in flames. A blood red mist hangs over the ground below, as the giant spider slowly makes its way towards the Palace.

You take a look around. You don't see any obvious caches of money, but aside from the bed, there are two cabinets, a dresser, and a locked chest.

You both climb a spiraling walkway around the trunk of a massive tree towards the network of walkways above. Entering the marketplace, you find there are shops of all sorts, carved into the trees around you and connected by walkways made from the still living branches of the trees. There are quite a few elves wandering about, but there's not nearly as much activity as you'd see in a human, or dwarvern marketplace.

Use the walkways that interconnect between the trees to hopefully outmaneuver the Spider.

Head to the Palace.

Tala found herself on guard, oddly. She seemed tense, as if something was going to jump out at them.

It took her a few moments to calm down. She began to think on the political implications...what reason could the Orcs and Elves have to be meeting? Was it just a good will gesture? Or something more...

She mentioned as such-out loud, and not caring who heard her.

"What do you think about it, sister? These Greenskinned dogs plotti...er, planning something with the Elves?

It would make a few of our Lords nervous, the thought of our rivals working together. Not to say they plan treachery, but...it's certainly suspicious.

Anyway-we should head to one of the guild halls, I think. They always collect information local work that needs to be done, that the locals are putting off, for whatever reason."

Tala smiled warmly, and put a hand on her sisters shoulder.

"You know? Just waiting for a pair of heroic sisters to come along and help them."

Vote/Action) Head to the Guild Halls and see if there's adventurer type work to be done around here.

You sprint along the network of walkways just above the spider, racing it to the Palace. The spider makes short work of the legions of guardians that attempt to stop it from reaching the Palace.

Out of breath, you reach the gates of the Palace.

'First, no replies from anyone at all. Now, a massacre because nobody heard your call. I can't believe this.'

And possibly more important than your leader, atop the Palace (The oldest tree in the Elven Forests, twice the size of any of the lesser trees.) is an ancient, magical artifact that protects the forest from outside harm... If that were destroyed, Ecanomina, and all of the Elven towns and cities around it would be almost completely helpless.

Approaching the gate, and the palace, you find that there appears to be no easy way inside. The gates are already closed, but they won't do much once the spider arrives.

Feleris stopped, his conscience had something going, and he couldn't find any way to help others, other than getting them killed, that is. "So we have a gigantic spider marching, seemingly, it's way to our only ward. Great."

'Well, have you ever heard of Telperion and Laurelin?'

'No.'

'The Sources of life, as retold by the loremasters, destroyed by the Gloomweaver, but in death sprang life again.'

'How is that supposed to help?'

'Think. You've gotten this far. Things seem to pop out of nowhere when you least expect them to.'

You climb over the wall, and drop down into the Palace Courtyard. The main doors are closed, and probably barricaded as well, so you aren't going to be getting into the palace itself that way...
