Ezriel set the book aside. Were he still alive, he felt that perhaps he might have rubbed his temples here. Maybe removed a pair of spectacles, kissed his wife goodnight, and blew out a candle. He was dead, though, and as far as he could remember he had never had a wife. Or spectacles, for that matter.

This last book was interesting. Intriguing, even, considering the title. He was no Lich, but he was certainly an undead who cast spells. It was close enough. Had he not cursed this Elpidio fellow? It was probably a tad rash. He had survived, after all, and the man clearly knew what he was talking about on a variety of subjects...

You read through Elpidio and the Mad Lich, which, unlike the other books you've seen of Elpidio's, is a story regarding his encounter with a Lich known as 'Melritch the Mad'. The battle was a long, and in the end neither Melritch The Mad or Elpidio claimed victory. Despite not being an instructional book, it does include a good bit of information about Liches.

Ezriel set this last book down. It was rather boring, in truth. Self indulgent, even. He had no doubts in his mind that this Elpidio fellow had written that book as well as the others. A book about himself.

After a moment, the Warlock rose to his feet.

A) Check the charging crystals. Get the enchanter's runes I acquired in the ruins, and bring them to the fifth floor. Summon some skeletons and have them bring all alchemy supplies and recipes up to the fifth floor as well.

You both travel through the mountains and to Melritch's Tower, to find charred bones lying outside of the entrance. There are also scorch marks across the walls of the tower, and the ground just outside of it... There's something strange about them, but there's no sign of who was behind this.
