Tala shook her head quickly. This was coming too fast on top of everything. Her emotions were out of control.

"No, no...I wouldn't do that...you don't even want the sword anymore, right?

Like I said, I'm making my own way in the world now. I just wanted to see you again...like..."

Tala thought hard. Did Asha have a reason to be afraid of her? While out and out murder was not something done, the Blackstone women usually settled the rite of succession with a duel. Perhaps she had been threatened by her other sisters...and Tala had always lacked a certain cold bloodedness, she believed, to be able to do something like that. 

But, the competition was always fierce. Even more so now, than ever before.

"Listen, I'm sorry...you don't want me here, Sister. I'll go. Just...

I'm so sorry...I love you."

Tala turned and sprinted toward the door, sniffling, tears in her eyes. How unprofessional, she heard her mothers voice chime somewhere in her mind. "Quiet, Mother." she said, to no one in particular.

((Just as a factual correction though: The Jungles actually make up the Northern half of the world, save for the (Northern) Elven Forests,))

A. Feleris stood still and listened for the source of the sound, he turned slowly; planning roll in a perpendicular direction if something tried to lunge at him. Maybe it was just one of the many ambient noises that he passively listened to, but it didn't hurt to overreact.

'What was that?'

Asha pressed her fingertips to her forehead. She had misinterpreted Tala's intentions. Instead of taking a moment to compose herself, she followed her out in the street. "Wait!" she called out. Maybe her sister would listen. "I'm sorry." She caught up to her (easy to do as her sister was wearing armor that slowed her down a bit, while she was in robes) and put a hand on her shoulder... then noticed something that deserved her attention more and wiped a tear away.

"One of the last things Mother said to me was that, even if I pursued my own path, I would still be considered for the inheritance... and that one of my sisters might come for me. You're the first of them to come here looking for me, and I thought..." Asha sighed. "It's been too long." Perhaps changing the subject would be best. "You said you're setting out on your own. Where are you bound?" she asked.

Silently, he draws the longbow, fingers taut on the string as he pulled. He could hear his breathing, slow and calmed, amidst the scuttling of the spider's legs. This shot must be worth it.

Tala sniffed. She didn't like to lose control like that. But it had been a tough day, and she was glad for some small amount of support.

"I don't know, Asha. I thought to travel into the Elf Country...or maybe take a ship somewhere.

I left home...in quite a hurry. Didn't really plan it out well, in hindsight. I'm not sure the family even realizes I'm not coming back yet."
