Let's Play The Sims 3 with the Morres!
« on: January 12, 2012, 07:33:08 pm »

Hello and welcome all to the fourth The Sims 3 LP to have hit the forum recently! This is your jack-of-several-trades Pyrate, and I will be presenting - and you directing - the story of the Morres family.

But who the hell are the Morres?

Hopefully this will be an acceptable group of individuals for the Bay 12 community. So let us get started!

But wait... there's one thing we have to get out of the way first.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

We'll have to brandish our architectural skills. What would you guys like? Any specific furniture? Floors? Basement? Walkways? Fortresses of doom?
We could also expand our budget a bit(say, (1)5000 simoleons?) to give us more freedom, but that's kind of cheating.

I leave this to you to decide, Bay 12. The fate of these sims is in your hands.

Hmmmm a basement for our evil mastermind (and possibly others) could be good. Depending on the budget you have (I'd rather not cheat, buuuut I don't care that much :P) possibly one more room so you can have Beezow, Zoppity, and Emily in one, Alfie and Iwón in a second, and Rodrigo in the basement? Also, table and chairs for everyone to eat at! And... um. Maybe an easel? Could be fun to have paintings around the house documenting the LP.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

The home

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Finally, we may begin our journey! We only need one more thing... directions for each of the characters. What are they supposed to do for a living? In their free time?

I dunno. That's your job.

Beezow: work as a writer. Find a job in journalism.
Zopitty: don't go to school. It'll only make you weep.
Alfie: Become a sportstar.
Rodrigo: Find a job at the warehouse.
Iwòn: I guess... go to the hospital. It's sterile.
Emily: Make some drawings. OH WAIT, YOU DON'T HAVE  THE QUIPMENT FOR IT! AHAHAHAHAHA.

That tower's awesome. For some reason I didn't know you could go above two floors. I like Darvi's suggestions for what to do; I've never tried keeping a kid home from school, how does it affect them? Maybe Emily can learn how to cook? Somehow? Or go buy some veggies (they're like 4 simoleons), and have her get a garden going so you don't have to buy food ever. You could probably do with some training equipment when you've got the money: easel, bookcase, whatever Alfie uses, maybe a mirror for Iwòn? I don't really know what she needs. And something for them to do for fun.

ALSO, (BIG CAPITALS SO IT'S NOTICED) make sure you've got the bug fix for the moodlet downward spiral. There's a terrible crippling (though strangely thematic for B12 Sims 3 LPs) bug where the game eventually clears the effects of positive moodlets but not negative ones (until you restart the game), so eventually your sims are all uncontrollably depressed. It's an easy and easy to find fix if you don't have it, though.

It seems like everyone is agreeing on this. Well; except...

I completely forgot. Brb; returning dishwasher.

EDIT: Day completed. 43 screenshots. Update in half an hour or so.

Day 1 - The future is green with blue polka dots

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I'm taking far too many screenshots, am I not? I'll try to cut down on them in the future so I can focus on doing good narrating rather than more narrating.

I think we should have more plans for each person to do. I only actually read your post now, Bluerobin; sure, let's make a garden.
Personal idea: get Iwón a girlfriend. I have no idea what shenanigans might happen, but I think they're there.

Put some medieval style windows on that tower.

Better yet; convert the entire thing to a fortress.

Hey, I'm part of the community too; I can make suggestions in my own thread!

Why is there a driveway but no garage?
Do we even have a car?

It came with the lot. I think every house has one.

Can't you park your car on the driveway instead in a garage, like I do in real life?
