And you need to practice your town game by...voting Dariush with the intention of a full-on-lynch?
Yes. The vote was merely pressure, though.
Whuh. 1) How exactly does that 'pressure' vote help you with your town game? 2) Why exactly should I feel anything except 'Oh great, OB tries to look like a jester again, fucking up scumhunting for everyone' from your vote that you didn't even attach a question to?

Tiruin, are you really that satisfied with OB's answer that you decided not to follow up? Or are you simply afraid of pushing an... experienced player further and only care about imitating activity?

Leaf: Uh, I wasn't right in the head when I phrased that post. What I meant by contradiction was that in space of several lines he supported the shortening and asked why... somebody was felt the need to shorten. What I meant by my second argument was: he accused PM of focusing solely on his defence and doing nothing else, while in the same time he (GG) was tunnelling PM and doing nothing else.

What do you think of that, Ottofar?  Lurkers and "not really playing the game at all"ers are bad for the game, right?  Should we be going after lurkers to make sure they don't slip under the radar and ruin the game?

With lack of better targets yes.
Excellent.

Then I'm gonna suggest to everyone that we lynch you right now unless you start actually playing.  We can't read people if they only make occasional fluff posts.  I want a message sent to scum that if they want to win they have to at least come out into the open and let us try to read them.

Normally I would be all for it, but right now I have a role I'd like to keep until at least tomorrow, preferably a day further.
But if you must, then you must.

Ottofar: What's your opinion on the current argument between PM and GlyphGryph?
Why aren't you doing anything?

As I see it, GG shortened because he said he'd do it, in GTDaL-thread. I didn't like PM's reaction, since the shorten really had no chance to go through. I find this a tell similar to a thing I do on IRC: in 3p situations, someone fakevotes and I immediately state clear, as if I hadn't noticed the fakeness.

It's a rather small tell though. Glyphgryph did go pretty aggressive over it, and I can't really recall the meta for him.

I think PM is town. Not too sure about GG.

Also busy.

Ottofar: Are you lurking? I've only seen one post of yours, as an answer to Leafsnail's vote on you. What can you make of all this?

Not intentionally, gonna have to apologize for that. I've been slightly busy for about a week, and I usually post too little. Gonna try and change it now. I don't make much yet, I'll be back soon.

There was a question on that vote. It may have been an easy question, but it was a question all the same.

Implying that I try to look like a jester every game is childish.

Passive insults are fun. And by fun, I mean stupid.

Unvote OB.

Also going with Ottofar as a Lynch all Lurkers policy vote, unless he contributes more (this is doubly important for me, since I'm not new enough to know his meta well enough to get a read from these sparse posts).
McArathos. Why are you giving yourself an excuse to vote Ottofar for lurking here? "Oh, I don't know his meta, so I'm just really gonna have to vote him until he does something." No questions to him, no questions to anyone else, just an easy bandwagon vote with a personal excuse to why your vote's more justified than anyone else's.

Ottofar made a meaningful post? Holy crap the Mayans were right.

GlyphGryph: Tunnel less, hunt more. Also, I didn't think much of it at the time, but:
PowderMiner - I've been out of practice for a while. Have you played much before? Are you thinking of any particular approach for this game? Before it started, were you hoping to be a commando, or a ninja?
Powder Miner, gonna spend some time on folks that are around for now, but I do expect an answer as soon as you notice this.
Why did you wait to vote Powder Miner?

Tiruin:
GlyphGryph: Your shorten does get answers, yes, but it also does imply that you have some kind of plan for the night too, other than baiting scum in that is.

I'm really wondering how requesting a shorten means he wants to get to the night sooner because he is scum.
I'm thinking along the lines of any power role, not specifically if he is scum.
Then why did you vote him if you didn't specifically think he was scum? Why did you unvote when you were called on it?

@Urist Imiknorris: My unvote was not because someone called it, I wanted answers from GlyphGryph. Wondering why he would ask for a Shorten right at the start.

Quote
GlyphGryph: Your shorten does get answers, yes, but it also does imply that you have some kind of plan for the night too, other than baiting scum in that is.
...how? I'm honestly not seeing the connection between a day shorten and a night plan here - what are you seeing that I'm not?
Which...was partly answered in another thread on why he does shortens. Before any of that, I didn't like the feel of his Shorten, guessing he has a night action without finding scum and going on the defensive from two votes.

Also, this:
I've noticed the only one you've been hounding was Powder Miner, why so? And the need for ASAP answers?
He didn't answer this though.

Also, I'm not saying that he specifically is town or is scum, but only an inference based on his action (attacking PM, mostly him) and that they're just dueling it out since then. If one of them is scum, then he's attracting attention to himself so his buddies would stay hidden. If both are town though, then I don't see anything to be gained but walls of text on each other, with every part being replied to and with nearly no knowledge on everyone else.

@Dariush: I'm waiting. How he worded a pressure vote seems very out of place, followed up by the 'practice' part. A question on "Why shouldn't we lynch you right now" doesn't seem like practice to me.

And I won't be able to post from now until six or seven hours later.

And what makes you think that after not answering it in the first post he's going to do it later?

Oh, my mistake, I confused it with your vote in B12M. Okay, a correction: why exactly should I feel anything except 'Oh great, OB tries to look like a jester again, fucking up scumhunting for everyone' from your vote with a... how should I put it... balls-out cretinous, stinking of hate-meta, useless in every imaginable way question?

What is it that you're waiting for?

Your answer, Orangebottle. And by practicing 'your town-game', you're outright saying you're town or you may be scum subtly putting that in?

Orangebottle:

Dariush: Do you have a good reason as to why we shouldn't lynch you right now?

PPE:Powder Miner is definitely a Ninja.

Do you have a good reason we shouldn't lynch you right now?  A "joking" accusation that someone is scum, plus your gradually growing meta-dislike of Dariush all coming together in a big ol' pile of useless post.
Right. Because there totally weren't other things to my post beside those two lines which you decided to cherry-pick out of it.
And yes, I do have a good reason. I need to practice my town game.

Toaster/Mod: Is it right to infer the roles in this game based on the flavor you've put? Or you aren't telling?

Precisely why I need practice.
Although, I don't see how a random pressurevote in RVS is scummy.

You shouldn't. I'm not trying to look like a jester(and I don't believe I do), and I haven't fucked up scumhunting for anybody in this game.

What is it that you're waiting for?

Was it this question? Because I already answered it.
And yes, I'm saying that I'm town. Is that a problem?

The Mafia are ninjas.  The Town are commandos.  Other than that, I'm not sure what you mean.  (Generally flavor is just flavor, though.)

It is how you worded a pressure vote. That is what caught my eye. And saying you are town, that has me doubting by your first action here.

You pressure voted Dariush in a way that made it sound like you really wanted to lynch him, for meta or not, I don't know.

@Urist I.: I do remember who I'm questioning, Orangebottle. I'm just not giving other reasons on why I said I'm waiting as it may tip off the scum to my plan.

Exactly how did you conclude that I forgot who I was questioning?

PPE: Fixed how? You re-directed the quote to your own post, which was already stated. Or you just wanted to point out that Ottofar posted that?
