Anno 2070: Strike the Sea! (Multiplayer Match)
« on: January 11, 2012, 04:04:08 pm »

Let's have a multiplayer game of Anno 2070!

In this game, there are two main factions which set out to colonize a series of islands formed by catastrophic climate change. These factions are the heavy industrialists- booze-swilling tree-hating strip-miners with a lust for gold- and the elves. No, seriously; the "eco" side somehow thinks that just because the planet has been scarred by massive climate change caused by rampant industrialism, we should avoid rampant industrialism.

Anyway, while the game is crippled with DRM, it's still rather fun, and the features that are available for trading and warfare make it quite entertaining.

Who's interested? I think there's a max of four players, plus four NPC characters. I'd like to have at least four players and if possible more.

Once we have a few players, we can pick the settings. I'm thinking of having two co-op teams with opposing factions on small, highly varied islands. We'd also have some AI, probably pirates, and the trenchcoat dude. As an alternative, we could simply have one large co-op empire and have a high-difficulty setting (Mercenaries, AI enemies, pirates...), Or of course, we could have everyone simply be a single player. However, I encourage co-ops because we could then more easily drop or replace a player.

EDIT: Add your ideal playing time... I can do 1:00 AM GMT to 4:00 AM GMT during the week, and most hours during the weekend.

I would be up for it.

Co-op allows you to play with more people.

EDIT: I would be up for the same time.

If we can find one more person, we could have two co-op teams, which would be ideal since I think that we could, in that case, still play with someone missing.

OK, that's enough. Let's start planning the mission and if anyone else would like to join, we'll see if we can fit them in.

When shall we start? I can start today in about 7 hours, but I need warning ahead of time.

I won't be home until about 8pm EST. I could play then, or the same time Friday night.

There should definitely be room.

Who's going to be ready to play in the next two hours?

Yeah, any time after now works for me, in fact.

EDIT: Someone else should probably host. My internet's been spotty lately. Who has a good connection?
