Will do. We'll probably end up doing it costume, too. Thinking maybe labcoat and goggles, though I'm open to suggestions.

Training starts out on sunday with a week of running to start to build up some basic stamina (plus, I'll be moving house next weekend, so I don't plan to start brutalising myself just yet). Then we'll start on core and upper body workouts in earnest after that. :P

And here was I thinking that this thread would be about extreme text-based online RPGing. :)

I'm a Melbournian, but I'm 16 and I think that joining you in doing this would probably qualify you for child abuse, willing or no. But man. Give me four years and I am so in.

First training session complete... 6 km run destroyed me, and the following weights session was a perfect way to show off how piss-weak my physique is. This is going to be a fun 2.5 months :P

Gonna do it in Virginia: First I have to get my knee into shape (Having a permanently damaged knee is not conductive to any sort of exercise) then I'm going to exercise. Also no idea if 17 year olds can enter but I hope they can. Will give me a reason to push myself physically again.

Love a good challenge. Gonna have to check and see if there'll ever be any near me.

So, I just figured I'd post a little progress.
In 7 weeks of training, I've gone from pretty well unable to finish a 6km run without walking, to just finishing 18kms in 1:59:40, an average of just over 9 km/h.

Also I can now do about 7 wide grip chin-ups without assistance.

YAY fitness!

While I originally came to this thread under a misapprehension, I'm reading.  Well, it''s popped up as a "new reply to my posts" thread, which is essentially the same thing.

Basically, well done.  (Does sound a bit platitudinous, but sincerely meant.)

You're my hero, Osmosis. A tough scientist, which describes exactly what I wanted to be when I was younger and still had dreams...

...oh, I have wasted my life! ;(

Anyway, that's seriously awe-inspiring. And looks like hell of a lot of fun.

Also nice outfit, still the teletubbies win on the creative field. (they must've sweated their arses off in those suits, though)

To be fair, there are Tough Mudder events around the world. Now you guys don't have any excuse :P

If i'm correct there is only one single event in continental europe (Berlin 2013)
