prophetic visions
« on: January 09, 2012, 01:46:08 pm »

I recently received the fufilment of a vision I had nearly a year ago. In the vision I enjoyed a evening with strangers in someplace I've never been and heard a song I've not heard anywhere before. I've got a family history of presumed seers so I'm not entirly suprised, but I'm confused on what do do now.

Happens to me all the time. We even have a word for it - Deja Vu. No offence but the event you described is relativley mundane, vauge and commonplace. Its not as if you dreamt walking the high wire over a takn of dolphins dressed as Hitler, which then came true a year later.

I like to write my dreams down, as not only are they mental and worthy of recording (the time I cured world hunger was a doozy), but sometimes things come to me in my dreams that I can implement in my work in a roundabout sort of way.

Yeah. Not meaning to burst a bubble, but whatever seemingly unexplainable thing happened - it's most likely a weird quirk of the brain, a neurological anomaly, nothing more.

Used to happen to me regularly. I blame it on how vague my vision were. I'd have a vision of me sitting in a restaurant, a nice bowl of soup in front of me, with my eyes on a clock. Then a year later, that exact thing happens. Thing is, my vision was very vague. Everyone will probably eat some soup and look at a clock in a restaurant at some point in their lives.

By vision; do you mean a dream, or something experienced in a trance / under the influence of hallucinogens?

Okay, you don't get any lottery numbers.
@OP Lotto numbers please
On topic: It happens all the time with me. I had a dream I played a game simaler to warcraft 3 two years ago, two years ago I didn't know what warcraft 3 was.

Then again, in the last ten years warcraft 3 has been cloned to hell and back.

Happens to me all the time. We even have a word for it - Deja Vu.

Without more to go on, I'd go with this.  I haven't had Deja Vu in quite a while, but it used to happen to me semi-frequently.  For a minute I would be convinced that either what had just happened had happened before, or I'd foreseen it.  Then after a few minutes I'd quickly come to realize that it was just silly.

In all seriousness though, if you think you had a serious vision of the future, there's nothing better than to try and apply science to it.  Start writing all of this stuff down and see what / how much comes true.

Then he must make sure it happens exactly as he saw it, or else there'll be a time paradox.

I have the same thing, but sometimes it's fairly mundane stuff. It happens though, just infrequently, and it rarely involves something important. Even if it does I can't remember what it clearly is or even have a vague idea what's happening, I just get a sort of feeling that this happened in my dream before.
