Um,  wouldn't you?  I mean, assuming that you are in the dining room wearing a sock and a helmet, wouldn't you go grab your armor and sword before taking on goblins?

Run 150 Z-levels down to the forges to grab that ONE -copper gauntlet-, then to the other side of the map to grab a wooden shortsword? No, I would go out and fight the siege like a dwarf.

Which is to say naked and unarmed.
