I see very few people at my high school who do not have a knife with them or in their locker. (Though the school limits it to a 2.5 inch blade, most ignore this.)

At my school briefly there was planned a metal detector to try and stop ANY knives coming in.
Didn't end up coming to pass.

Yup, a pocket knife is a useful tool. I use mine primarily for stripping wires in electronics, but other people use them to open packages, eat lunch, or sharpen their pencils.

Aye, though there are so many Canadians about that it's hard to tell at times.

The 'right to bear arms' is controversial, but yes, I imagine it's covered.

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

If someone's invading, the militia has to have enough Bowie knives to counterattack.

I imagine it more as militia striding out from the woods, wielding the severed arms of bears. Now THAT would be fearsome!

Maybe he is way addicted to Minecraft, and carries around a sword wherever he goes? His interest in 'diamond' might be diamond hunting!
