Still, that action's true to his character, so I'm not going to change it. He might tactically withdraw if need be, I guess.

Well, half the PC's agreed to team up together so you might get some help from them. After all, if you die now you can't be a meat shield later.

So what I get is that when the timer ticks down to 0, mines explode from the ground but they are only timer-activated. Does it affect the whole park?

The mines are active until the timer counts down to zero, to prevent anyone from bolting for the supplies early.
They're only placed around the platforms usually.

Nah, ask away so you're not at a disadvantage unless you don't want to spoil it.

The scores are given by a panel of judges over who they think has the best chance of surviving 1 being the worst score and I *think* that twelve is the highest, I may be mistaken though. 
Throughout the games you may be sent gifts, usually food, medicine etc., by sponsors who may be more inclined to do so initially if you had a high score, as the Games go on it gets more expensive to send gifts, also the more useful an item is the more expensive it is.  Most sponsors have bets placed on you, which is why they're inclined to help you, or they may take a liking to you and decide to help you.

People who don't post actions don't insta-die as far as I know. So if you don't want to lose, but don't particularly care for winning, just don't post.

It's pretty much a garuntee that people are going to die immediately, the Cornucopia fight usually knocks off almost half of the contestants
