Oddly Happy
« on: September 07, 2006, 12:18:00 pm »

I'm carving out my fortress and I don't have private bedrooms or a walled in dining room.  To keep my dwarves as happy as possible, I made my dining room fill up most of my fortress (it's pretty small at this point).  I put the beds in a corridor which is contained by the dining room.

One of my dwarves fell asleep in a bed, and unfortunately he was the only dwarf at the time to lack an assigned bed.  After inspecting him to check the damage, I find that "He slept in a bedroom like a personal palace lately."

The guy likes tables and Schist (95% of my dining room is Schist), so I'm guessing that the bed was claimed by the dining room, and since he loves that dining room he enjoyed sleeping in it.

I have a save of this right after it happened if you think it could help.

That might be enough to do it -- a dwarf doesn't even demand a personal room, so if you just made it up to a "level 5" room, they'd max out the effect.
