THAT'S NOT A MECH!

You see, you can make mechs very small, you just have to remove a lot of fleshy bits for the riders in order to get them to fit inside at that point.

Basically, you turn your "mech pilots" into limbless, stripped down torsos covered in I/O connectors, and then you can just pop them into your newest model of whatever "human sized" mech you want!

And then you put THOSE mechs into even BIGGER mechs!

It's really the perfect advancement of humanity.

(Actually, with the mech suit shown, I wouldn't be surprised if what I just described was actually the case, and you actually do just slip what's left of the person into that new mech suit and the more slim human-looking body is just an "around town" version of the same thing)

I'm pretty sure everybody would love something like that. Oh, what's that, I'm old and my limbs are all brittle? Fuck it, cut them off. Flesh is weak, metal is strong.

It be cool if a high/the highest cybernetic ability was a mental backup, so if a solider enhanced with it dies they can be reloaded into a new body. And then we will have an Eclipse Phase video game.

Anyone want to guess at what the new title implies? Enemy within.

If I were to guess, I'd say that there's an end game scenario where we find the Aliens can control or affect all the meld technology we incorporated and now we have to fight the super cyborgs we made.

Hopefully they'll give us a better set of endings too, rather than "WE WERE TRYING TO HELP YOUUUUUU~" nonsense.

The ending might make more sense if it was a sequel hook into an Apocalypse remake. I mean, let's face it: Apoc's invasion would've been a heck of a lot harder without all advancements caused by the first two games. Imagine that game without Elerium-powered aircraft, mass-produced armour, psionics, or cyborgs.

A bit high maintenance. Why don't you just give them the psysuit and let them psionically project themselves everywhere instead. :P

The Ethereals weren't trying to help humanity, they were trying to assimilate it in order to have their perfect supersoliders. They just ended up biting off more than they could chew.
