What. Why are there french tentacles at the end.

That is the artist's avatar, that now makes fairly frequent appearances in the strips.

Edit: also another nuCom strip he did recently.

The artist is a guy? I always figured the red-haired girl was the author's avatar :o

Clearly the solution is to play Day of the Tentacle... or Maniac mansion I guess.

Somehow, I manage to survive despite catastrophic loss.

Lost my best men to chyssalids. It was a mistake to split them up.

Currently lost most of Asia and South Africa. On the bright side, I have skeleton armor and lasers.

Hahahahah, I love what this game does to you.

That comic, so true!

Alright, got enough experience to have a stab at iron man challenge. I'm playing at classic ofcourse, I do like a challenge.

I've already given it a go last night, damn is the early game unforgiving. Still, I managed to pull through and get a pretty good team up and running despite the occasional loss.
I was especially proud of one soldier in particular, same nationality as me even, who was extraordinary badass. Besides pretty much netting half the kills throughout the playthrough this guy earned himself the title 'hazard' after blindly storming in a group of 3 sectoids while shouting 'Moving at the speed of death!', and emerging unscathed taking two down single handedly. While the rest of the team was panicking after a casualty he just kept on killing, so badass.

Sadly I messed up the strategic part (the one part that has no random elements, shame on me) and didn't get enough engineers in time to build more relays, leading to countries leaving all over as I missed two UFO's because I forgot to transfer my fighter to the right continent, stupid.  ::)

Take two, got a decent team up (I won't lie I start over if more then one dies first mission). This heavy already had her moment of glory as she managed a quad kill her second mission in by blowing up a truck. The mission only had 4 sectoids, heh. Suppose I'll have to make her a demolitionist expert!

I got titan and archangel armor.

Only manage to cover Europe and North America on time. Sorry rest of the world, I wanted to save Asia first but I lost Japan first so I settled for Europe. I started in Africa so I still got the 30% bonus.

I suffered another catastrophic loss. Lost my best men in a moderate difficulty abduction. It had two sectoids and 5 mutons. Only the squaddie sniper survived and finish the mission. She manage to take down the last 2 mutons.

I somehow skipped light plasma rifles. Most guides I read said to capture thin men for it. I researched lasers first and jumped to plasma rifles from mutons.

I want to make another run (in classic or impossible), but I don't because I don't want to buy the dlc full price, and don't want to begin and then buy the dlc for the next sales.

A 3 set of Council missions that give you a special soldier with high stats and early access to some tech. Plus a bit more armor customization options.

Meh, not worth it.

Is there any weapon that replaces the rocket launcher? It's like the most trusty human weapon.
