Well...  ummm  base map view?   Not the engineering place where you build the facilities.

You mean the ant-farm? Or whatever they called it in the previews.

Huh, I'll have to look for that in the engineering sections.

Are you playing on normal or easy?  Maybe you hit the cap on the number of enemies on screen, so the Muton you injured earlier resumed 'patrol' once he got out of sight and some more enemies showed up.

Nope, Classic all the way.

The Alien Base is pretty buggy, though. So maybe it's just that. Being able to see and shoot through giant stone walls is already pretty silly...

It was already pretty silly that even with bullets you can shoot out HUGE holes in solid alien metal, brick, and what have you.

It is kinda part of the weirdness that is this game...

These are uber-brand bullets. It's why the military gets there asses kicked, with their normal bullets.

If ONLY you could find a way to make ships fire these "bullets"

That would be the Phoenix Cannon?

No, not enough damage. A single barage of "bullets" could take out any ship.

I have never seen a regular gun shoot holes in anything unrealistic.

lol, I was playing earlier and wondered the same thing... was blasting away at a muton and accidentally blew up the hull of a ship with a laser sniper or a plasma light rifle or something. I didn't really want to blow up ship hulls because I thought they converted into alloys.

Its kinda fridge logic, once you think about it:

"Ship powerful enough to withstand Impacts at extreme velocities; easily dismantled by small arms fire."

Isnt it like that stuff you mix with water that become hard on impact but if the impact is not big enough it stay liquidish? Frack i dont know the word in english.... Well would explain that, harder the impact less chance to dismantle.... pretty weird in my book tho

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

Punching it would break your hand, but scratching it with your nails or a knife carves right through it. Sounds legit.
