WRONG!, alt-tab and ctr-alt delete BEFORE your turn start again, so as soon you see your guy fall down, do it and then you can reload at the turn JUST before the ennemy attacked you. They dont save at the end of your turn only at the beginning wich can be exploited like i just explained.

However, I would like to add that this is an exploit mainly used by douchebags that want to brag about their "No-death" victory in Classic Ironman or people that want to do Ironman but are too cowardly to actually play fair.

Also try and not be an ass and overemphasize when telling about people stuff. Its not a good way to make friends.

Ninja Edit:
So, you can reload it and watch your favourite soldier die again and again and again?

Oh yeah, also this. Due to the way turns are supposedly generated, you're pretty much guaranteed to be unable to change anything. To my knowledge, most Turn based Fraxis games use the same seed for each turn. This means that all the rolls you and your enemy make are pretty much set in stone. Although, you could change your orders for that turn so said soldier is not in the same situation as the one where he died.

But lets be honest, if you're willing to use an exploit like that, you may as well turn off Ironman in its entirety.

Yeah, no point in playing Ironman if you're going to do a savescum like that. The only reason to do that, and still play Ironman, is to recover from a problem caused by a bug.

Do what you need to in order to enjoy the game, I guess, but don't brag about your Ironman run if it wasn't actually Ironman. That's just lame.

(Not pointing fingers at anyone here, btw. Just my view in general.)

I did not say i was using it... I just said there was an exploit to it, and also if you do EXACTLY yhe same thing as your did before the enemy turn youll get the end result, but sometime not sending X unit ( the one who died ) where he was when he died might save him!

Also like he said better not use ironman if you will use that exploit... i wonder if the guy who did impossible used that exploit.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

But... no one was ever pointing the figure at you. We were just saying that anyone who did use it is kinda hypocritical.

You realize this is EXACTLY what I said 2 posts ago?

I finally got the Alien Base. Should be interesting to find out what it's got in store for me.
Fucking alien base. You know those parts midway through where you go over a little "hill" right, with some consoles for cover up top? I stationed all my guys up there and had them shooting enemies. A cyberdisc got through my overwatch, came up close and disappeared. I sent someone around the console into the open to try and spot it, it wasn't there. I presume it glitched through the floor or something. Then they spot a trio of mutons. I have a fairly drawn out battle with them, and on the last one, I get alien-grenaded. I lose a dude and my cover, everyone's wounded. Then the muton shoots and kills another grenade-wounded soldier. I figured out after some serious rage that it was from the Cyberdisc, which on the next turn merrily appears, apparently having been invisible right across the low cover despite having someone standing out in the open. But I finally beat it and the muton, spend some turns reloading and I'm about to heal someone when, at the end of the turn, with someone still in the open down the hill, I SOMEHOW encounter a squad of mutons- right next to me. And this was an entirely new squad, they looked like they were just picking their noses and they got their "XCom! Cover!" move. WTF?

I will say I DEFINATELY attempted the Base too soon.

I seen the difference between a Normal crew with base armor and a Laser Crew with Low Armor and it is practically night and day.

Also I got a TON of cash from selling all my plasma pistols minus 1 (over 800). I don't even use pistols because I use those to weaken enemies and not kill them. It actually saved my game, which was circling the drain, since I forgot early on to get in satelites.

Thank goodness I capture enemies even when I don't need them captured.

the alien base is so insanely bugged it isn;t even funny.  Seriously there is one spot where enemies routinely teleport through the walls.

Alien ships do that too sometimes. I had a Muton phase through the floor to jump down into the alien ship...

Enjoying this game so far, although on Classic Ironman I haven't really gotten that far before losing :)

Had a few interesting moments so far; on my current run I've had some stories to tell and we haven't even hit the first major mission yet -

Second mission (I think, may have been the first), one of my soldiers panics and shoots one of my rookies, killing him instantly.

That soldier went on to become a sniper (well, she certainly showed aptitude for it), and single-handedly saved a Target Escort mission.

The mission in question started out fairly bad - the obligatory rookie did what they usually do (got shot and killed, in case you weren't following), then as my squad started to move up the map very, very slowly, they got jumped and one of my two heavies got shot by a passing Thin Man.

We struggled on, getting halfway through the map, before another enemy spawn wiped out my other heavy, leaving one sniper and a panicking civilian.

She then proceeded to grenade the remaining Sectoid out of cover, and sniped every last Thin Man drop-in on the way to the exit.

Eventually she reached Captain, and then, instead of dying a heroic death, she got sniped by a lucky plasma rifle crit from halfway across the battlefield. (The rest of her squad also got killed during that mission).

Probably just as well, since when the first terror mission came up, everyone died in that too. And in the first assault on

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

where everyone died again, within the first ~3 turns in fact if I recall correctly. (In fact I actually lost the mission on the first turn due to revealing enemies with my very last move of the turn, who then proceeded to kill off the whole squad - it just took them a couple of turns to do it)

On the plus side, recruitment is up about 300%.
