I actually did drop their health but I totally neutered their aim.

Its in the same place as their health/aim/etc.

Do note that you need Long War, because with vanilla the documents are just there for show.

Other awesome thing I found in the files: Apparently LW has found a way to edit the Arc Thrower into the pistol slot. I didn't turn it on, so can't confirm if/how well it works, but hey, that's cool.

That's actually just a restore. Yeah, that was intended to be a vanilla functionality, it got removed for some reason.

Another thing is there was an attack-of-opportunity kinda thing independent from Overwatch at a low probability, also axed.

I finally got to my first Terror Mission in Long War, still with starting weapons. I managed to save 4 civilians, but got 0 casualties on my team. All in all it was incredibly intense, and I felt good. It's really a different feel to vanilla, where I pretty much aced my first terror mission. It really felt like a losing battle, which I kinda liked. There was once or twice where I considered evac.

They're not so bad, as long as you've got a couple Assaults with 3+ ranks.

The ungodliest combination possible:
An Infantry with a Battle Rifle (or higher-tier equiv.), Drum Mags and Lock 'N Load at Lance Corporal rank thanks to Training Roulette.
Effectively +10 Aim as long as I don't move, and eight or so shots before reloading? Yes please.

So i got hooked on xenonauts before seeing xcom:EU. do i need "enemy within" to make this feel complete? the price tag seems rather steep and i'm sorta unsure if i would like it like xenonauts

It doesn't really play like X-com, the dynamic is different.  It does reasonably capture the 'spirit' of X-com tho' so if you are more about the 'feeling' of a game than the exact mechanics, it's worth it.  If anything EW changes it further away from the mechanics of X-com, but makes the game rather more enjoyable and interesting.

EW is a great addon. That being said, it's an addon. The game wasn't designed like The Sims and feels rather complete without it. It's still a bit better with EW. Without it, it's still awesome.

I've said multiple times that XCOM:EU is literally my favorite game of all time, but it's probably not for everyone. It's still an X-Com game, and has all the core aspects that you would expect from that title, but it does make a lot of changes to other things. You'd probably be best off watching some gameplay videos and making your choice based off of that.

You should really look to the wilderness for your stealth ideas, it has been doing it much longer than you have after all. Take squids for example, that ink trick works pretty well, and in water too! So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

That's what I said.
making your choice based off of that.
"Choice" being "whether or not to get XCOM:EU"
