^^^ Yeah. I don't think the amount of bugs you have are affected by the quality of your computer (aside from crashing, but thats not really a bug, though it can be caused by one). Aren't bugs programming errors?

A lot of the bugs are timing and syncing errors. Anything that causes game slowdown can seriously exacerbate these, since you can input commands before the game is ready for them and throw things off.

Clicking really fast has similar results, and yeah - playing with a controller would probably bypass most of those.
Some of the graphical bugs are rather hilarious, though. Such as:

  • Soldiers pointing the wrong way while shooting.
  • Using the Primary weapon as a pistol.
  • Aliens shoot, misses target, hits person behind target. (Collateral damage, something I do and don't want back at the same time.)
  • Ragdoll spazzes, quite comforting to see a Crysalid spazz out on a bit of rubble after his buddy killed a good chunk of your squad.

I should mention, Beserkers on my first play through would cause my computer to studder when roaring. It seems intimidate works on computers too.

Every dwarf, every dwarven man, women, and child, that comes to our forts will die there; it's truly sad when you think about it. And we ask our selves, why? Why do we push forward, knowing this fate, that we are destined for failure? Because, this game grasps the concept of mortality. Some games you can never lose, but we all stop eventually, causing a 'death' to those game's 'worlds'. Dwarf Fortress gives us a definite end, knowing that we will leave that world eventually, and move on to more.

  • Soldiers pointing the wrong way while shooting.
This one activated in the middle of a mission and kept happening until the end.  The best part was I hit every shot while the glitch was active.

Soldiers: Time to activate the Super Secret Ancient Hyper Neo-Omega Power of Kinetic Reversal!
Aliens: What wizardry is this!?

Its funny, I've never had a man get killed by a chrysallid on any playthrough ever. Even the Impossible ones.

I was the same way. Then my entire squad was killed by them in a single mission :P

Some of the graphical bugs are rather hilarious, though. Such as:
Also when aliens 'miss' your people yet several rounds ACTUALLY HIT YOUR DUDE.

Alien: "Haha! I hit you! Los-"
Xcom: "No you didn't."
Alien: "But I saw my rounds hit you right in the head!"
Xcom: "Yes, but I rolled a 57. So you missed."

Also, once I sent a Thin Man corpse orbital. His body never hit the ground before it was my turn.

I once had nine Chryssalids show up in two turns. It was a slaughter, ended that playthrough.

That could be excused as your soldier's armor actually doing it's job: keeping the attack from doing damage.

If you happen to shoot a rocket in such a way that it accidently kills one of your Soldiers and causes 2 other to panic, then it's easy to lose people to Crysalids. What's weird is that the Heavy didn't misfire, I don't think it said it was blocked, and it didn't indicate that the Soldier was in the rocket's range.

The entire incident, the Chrysalid Spazzing and the rocket incident happened yesterday on the same mission.

I should mention, there was NO EVAC ZONE and I had a floater (Or maybe a drone? Don't remember.) actually manage to kill a rescued civilian, since there was no Skyranger for her to hide in.

But why would the armor protect the soldier only some times?

Same reason armor only protects some of the times in real life?

...Because armor isn't guaranteed protection? You can still get shot and injured/killed while wearing a bullet-proof vest, you know.

I don't know the exact science behind it, but this article mentions how nearly 60% of the tested vests failed to stop at least 6 rounds.

I have a rather hard time believing that X-COM armor (the default suits, anyhow) are actually able to absorb meaningful amounts of damage from plasma weapons. People joke about the Imperial Guard being equipped with t-shirts and flashlights, but the first part is honestly pretty close to the truth in the case of X-COM squaddies.

I'm sorry, but I'm not an expert on real life armor. So may I suggest dropping the tone?

Also, I see you have a point, though I'm still not really convinced on how on three shots an alien will crit a guy and then the next will do absolutely nothing can be excused as the armor actually working. Something about it still seems off to me.
