See, I wasn't assuming it would be an all-day thing. Even so- and maybe it's my eternal Inner Pragmatist talking- but all I can think of after 24 hours of that variety of play is how deathly sore I would be afterward... whereas after 24 hours with XCOM, I can wake up and trust XCOM to still be there, and be ready for another round.

Sorry there, my libido... but to borrow from the immortal words of Mr. Ice-T, "Don't hate the player. Hate the game."

Well, if it's not an all day thing, why not do all of it? Just...not at the same time. Srsly. No reason to mentally connect getting slaughtered by aliens and yer boner.

(Later, after disregarding my advice: Solifuge is captured by aliens, strapped to a dissection table, and all he can think is, "Man, I have the weirdest boner right now.")

And with that, I implore that the thread get back on the rails, lest we all be smote.

Thanks... now I'll never be able to look at a Sectoid dissection the same way.

But I don't want to learn more about the enemy! At least not like that!

Hearing a lot of positive buzz out of E3 from people who played it, and the Lead Designer and Producer were on the live Bombcast last night and sounded so god damn passionate about it. Was amused to learn that Sid Meier's still does the core gameplay programming of most of their games to this day.

I think they are being incredibly conservative, after having several blaster bombs launched in one turn blowing everything to the sky gods, I think there's not enough explosion effects.

I think they are being incredibly conservative, after having several blaster bombs launched in one turn blowing everything to the sky gods, I think there's not enough explosion effects.

I was talking about that guy holding some magical orbs in his hand, looking like wizard from Skyrim. Style-wise, for me atleast, they really dropped the ball. Also, the fact that the kill cam zooms to an alien perspective kills subtelty for me.

Enemy Unknown looks pretty good.  I loved Apocalypse, so hopefully this should be an improvement.
