Future evil biome embarks.
« on: January 05, 2012, 12:36:06 am »

Just a dwarf mode  question.

How may other people are going to immediately embark on evil areas when the new release comes out?

I know that i sure am. By now I'm experienced enough that I can reliably get a solid fort started and safe in any non evil biome. And even Evil biomes can usually become pretty habital.  But with the death fog and sickness rains plus vampires, werewolves and all that rot I think evil Biome will become much more deserving of the titles "horrifying" and "terrorfying".

Terrifying and Haunted biomes as they stand aren't much. Multiple Terrifying and Haunted biomes intersecting each other on the other hand...

Even if it's only one biome skeleyaks will ruin Your day. But yeah the creeping doom-fog sounds awesome. I wonder how many z levels it is?

Skeletal Yaks? Bah, nothing a healthy dose of overwhelming military cannot solve.

But yeah the creeping doom-fog sounds awesome.

I think I need to see the dev log now :P

Think evil biomes are easy? Play terrifying savannah. Rhinos, hippos, elephants, giraffes... That way lies damnation.

I'm hoping the mists a random, so one year you get a burning mist, which will hopefully act like a bushfire, and the next year you get a eerie glow which turns all it touches into demented husks. Variety would be Beyond awesome. You'd never get bored. I'm also hoping the mists fall down stairs if you don't have hatch covers or doors and walls stopping it. That would add a whole new design feature.

I want living eerie glow gas grenades.
That would be a good job for the alchemy labor.

urist mcAlchemist Concentrates [dark Mist] into [green Glass Vial]
Vabok mcSworddwarf takes [vial of Dark Liquid]
Vabok McSworddwarf throws [vial Of dark Liquid] at goblin Master Lasher. Goblin Master Lasher Turns into A demented Husk!
Demented Husk Attacks Vabok mcSwordDwarf!

More like having Goblins and Dwarves suicide bomb each other with eerie glowing gas. Not only do you have to deal with berserk Dwarves, but now Berserk Goblins :D

Plus, it works both ways :D

I hope I'm going to be able to mod microline to give off this eerie glow gas.

The devlog says the resultant creature was bloodless. Does that mean one can mod the type of fluid which flows through a dwarf's veins? Would that not allow one to create a disease which could be transmitted, because the infected emit more of it?
