I just want to go on record as saying that thinking "rat man blood" isn't as good as "dwarf blood" or "human blood" is blatant racism.

Slightly more seriously, I don't see a problem with being that specific and getting random intelligent race results from that. Randomly generated world is random seems more like a feature than a bug.

Well, rat men are subterranean and thus don't experience the rain.  The horror of having your own blood pour down from the sky is lost on you when you when a human settler steps outside and says "What's with all this rat man blood?  This is weird.  Anyways, let's see what's at market!"

OH GOD!  If this is possible though, if the blood of a species can rain...  What... what if it can rain booze? ._.

If it rains Troll blood, will it be Cyan?

(is blood color a Raws thing, or hardcoded?)

That's speciesism.

I'm pretty sure blood color can indeed be altered.
Case in point, Trolls.
I think you just search around for the blood part of its raws, and color should be in there.

THis may be a little off topic but if there is going to be region specific weather i'm hoping for sand storms. Porbably not in this update, but it'd be cool if in a sand desert the topmost soil layer was at least semi-dynamic. Like you build a wall and the a sand storm blows in from the east piling sand up againt your eastern wall forming a set of ramps. Then a vile force of darkness arrives. That sounds like FUN.

The circus should be plagued with screaming winds, which resound the whispers of ages into lowly mortal minds, and drive insanity forward as the only motivation fit for the tainted vessel of flesh.

It would encourage strange moods to dwarves who'd visited HFS, resulting in an outbreak of ☼oak earring☼ artifacts as this is the only thing insanity encourages amongst dwarves.

What happens if one is a vampire?
Then they die when they finish, if wood acts like an aura of sorts.

If that were applicable, then all vampires would self-destroy when they went to sleep.  It's not like we have stone beds or anything.

Now all I think about is Toady giving each world creature-like properties, and maybe even some AI-esqe routines, so every world you're playing on is essentially some procedurally generated god, detailed from the biggest godly aspects down to what kind of ore makes up their "veins" and what kind of bacteria infest their "bowels."
