With an audible thump, the body bag lands on the beach. The two men run back to the motorboat. As they speed away, Gerald Root unzips himself. He sits up and takes a look at his surroundings. A faint glow of neon lights streak out from the southwest. In all other directions he sees the tint of sunrise over the ocean waves. He stands up and paces a bit, to stretch his legs a bit. Finally he returns to the body bag, and reaches into it. He pauses suddenly. On top of his blue tote-bag is a letter, with the stamp of Project EVIL on it. Intrigued, he opens the letter...

"Now Arriving: Flight 242 from Copenhagen."

Zack Daniels scans his immediate surroundings as he leaves the plane. He has only the clothes on his back, the rifle he managed to sneak onto the plane, 42 dollars in cash, his tote-bag, and the letter. He pulls it out and scans it once more, before stuffing it back in the bag with a snort.

A sign on the wall points to areas of interest. The way to the subway/train station on the left, while the roads to the city centre are to the right...

The black helicopter quickly touches down on the beach, barely long enough for a lone figure to jump off of it. Mr. Darius De Pershen doesn't look back. How can he, when his employers have given him a letter allowing him to indulge in his hobby? Darius sweeps his surroundings with a critical eye, trying to match his position with the view from the helicopter. To the south was a small, rural town. To the east was road after road of small cottages. West was wilderness, while to the north was the endless sea.

Xavier de Rocheford knew he was going to be okay. After all, he was working to save himself, and he never botched a job. Actually, there was that time in Bolivia, but Xavier tried not to think about that. He smiled. The handcuffs were finally off. He kicked the lid of the crate off, leapt out of it with a somersault and brought his pistol up to...
See nothing but empty beaches.
Disappointed that no one was around to see his amazing acrobats. Turning around, he noticed that the crate he was in was drifting away with the tide, taking his bag with it. After several heroic minutes of splashing, Xavier managed to rescue his bag before the crate was swept out to sea. He quickly opened it up. The letter inside was wet, but still readable.

To the north and south was nothing but empty beach. East was the ocean, and to the west Xavier could barely make out the tips of several skyscrapers.

Alexander Zane did not really understand what was so terribly important about money. Through most of his life Alexander concerned himself with things necessary for survival. Finding food and water. Making shelter out of tree branches. Butchering and cooking various pieces of meat. Sure, Zane knew what money was used for, but not why Project EVIL needed a thousand dollars in a week, or why it would waste millions of dollars just to train so many people to collect the money needed to train more people. Still, he had a job to do.

From the captain he knew that he was on the westernmost part of the island, and that to the east was acre after acre of prime forest. Beyond that was the only city on the island, and possibly the thousand dollars that Project EVIL was looking for.

Spoiler: Alexander Zane (click to show/hide)

The surf lazily swept over the beach, here and there depositing a bit of wood, or uncovering a pretty shell. There the ocean coughed up the body of Alexander Wyane. Alexander Wyane jerkily rose. The Outer Gods were displeased at him, displeased at a ten year lack of sacrifices, displeased at a ten year lack of worship and praise. Alexander crumpled up the letter from Project EVIL, its words burning his head. A licence to finally do what the Outer Gods wanted him to do.

To the east an island flickered with bursts of colour, as bits of music drifted across the waves. A theme park perhaps? To the west a rusty old sign declared: "DANGER: MINES"

Spoiler: Alexander Wyane (click to show/hide)

Greybeard Robert Sheriden stepped onto the dock. He turned around and waved at The Crimson Permanent Assurance, as it turned around and returned to the great blue sea. Nice chaps, but their bookkeeping system is horribly outdated. According to the letter from Project EVIL, Robert had to make a mere thousand dollars before the week was up. In a week his portfolio alone would make most of it.

According to a conveniently placed sign, Robert Sheriden was currently standing in the harbour district (as if he needed a sign to know that). To the east was the city proper, to the southeast was the industrial district, to the south was the industrial park, and finally, far to the northeast is the main subway station.

A piece of beach began to glow brightly, swirling with unknown energies. Finally, with a rather anti-climatic pop, Prof. Kane Wilson stood on the very same piece of beach. He was annoyed slightly, that teleportation had finally been achieved. Yet another subject of expertise to cross off his theoretical degree in physics. From what Wilson could remember (which was a considerable amount), he had landed on a piece of beach to the north of some random amusement park. North of his position would be the public beaches on the island, while to the west would be the commercial district of the city. More worryingly, Kane had to collect a thousand dollars in a week. Not that fake stuff they hand out with research grants either, but the real kind.

Spoiler: Prof. Kane Wilson (click to show/hide)

Zack took one of the smokes from his pocket, and lit it as he walked out into the street. His first priority would be a base of operations, and so he needed to start looking at once. He began walking around the city looking for abandoned buildings, construction sites, or sewer entrances he could use to begin his base.

Find an abandoned building, construction zone, and sewer entrances for my base.

Would it be ok if my waitlist character is a regular guy who accidentally got the letter in the mail? It just strikes me as a hilarious idea and I want to do it.

Slightly confused as to how he should start collecting the money needed, all of Alexander's worry disappeared as he saw the vast forest ahead of him. He lifted his tote-bag over his shoulder. Then, nailboard in hand, he began making his way east.

Head east, into the forest. Picking up anything of value on the way.

Xander shook the sand off his clothing and looked at the golf club. Bastards didn't even have thr funds to send his precious with him. Ah, no matter, he would simply have to wait until he could call one of the cultists back in Arkham to ship him it. In the mean time he had a job to do...
Action: Xander searches for small rocks and sticks. If he finds a goos amount he will travese the mine field, stepping over/throwing small objects at an suspicous patches of ground.

Robert started walking as the Crimson Permanent Assurance sailed away. Thumbing his way through the letter of his new employer as he made his way to the town proper in his ragged suit. Reaching into the torn black suit jacket he pulled out a old tobacco pipe, and lit the last of his tobacco with disdain. "So, it's come to this 'as it? Well I know where I'm 'eaded. Casinos 'lways 'ave smoking tobacco, 'nd knowin' this kind of place their books 're bound ta be full of inefficiencies." he said in a thick northern British accent.

Xavier folded the mail and stick it in his pocket, this is going to be so fun. He knew how he would get a temporary base of operations, while later on getting a better one, he could also have a source of money that way.

Xavier heads to the city and finds a wealthy woman to seduce

Gerald took his time sitting and watching the sun come up. Had a momentary wish he was sharing it with someone.

A beautiful sight, but there work to be done. He took a look at his ragged suit-once so trendy! Project EVIL couldn't even be bothered to spring for proper villian uniforms. It was embarrasing. He normally would have questioned the capability of the sniper squads on such a limited budget, but they apparently lived on a shoe string budget of fast food value meals, bus fare and cheap hotels, along with only using a single bullet a mission. They had received numerous commendations from the Shadowy Bankers for cost cutting measures.

Gerald grunted, threw the body bag into the jungle, and started walking along the beach, singing a rousing tune. He spotted a yellow hibiscus growing at waist height from the remnants of an old fence and plucked it deftly.

Action: Circle around the island. Look for a beach house I might be able to claim as a hideout. Especially if I can find a pretty Wahine.

Kane knelt for a few moments, running the sand beneath his feet through his fingers. It showed no signs of being exposed to large amounts of energy, and Kane found himself wondering how the teleportation had been achieved... was it a matter displacement, some kind of dimensional tunneling, or a worrying form of matter transmisson? Not that it was important at this juncture, but things he couldnt grasp with ease tended to bug him. Also vexing was his state of dress. Well, that had to be dealt with as a matter of urgency. Amusement parks tended to have putt-putt golf, which was such a crass application of Newtonian Mechanics, but not beneath him as an inital source of petty cash. Maybe there would be some jocks or frat boys beered up and willing to gamble with the down on his luck bum who owns nothing but the trusty golf club he had been left with. Then some proper clothes could be aquired, and the real buisness at hand dealt with.

Head to the near by amusement park, looking for the mini golf and chumps to hustle for a few hundred or few thousand dollars to spend on a nice sharp suit.
