Are food or water even implemented in adventure mode? My guys never get thirsty or hungry should I just drop it?

In the current version no, it is probably going to be re-implemented in the next version.

Right now, just drop it or sell it (or use it as a weapon)

Or burn it and throw it at the nearest elf.

No, no, NO.
Grab them by their scrawny necks, throw them to the ground, beat them to a pulp, then shove it in their faces.
Like a hero.

Hydras, dragons, and other beasts will yield sweetbread when butchered. There's a whole cupcake in every crazy animal, just cut open their wet, mutilated carcass and it should be easily found atop their heart, liver, intestines, and lungs. Eating is pointless, but you get to wander from town to town with your magical bag of monster candy.

There is a use though;

1. Eating the hearts of your enemies is absolutely badass.
2. Eating lots of meals every day (3 is norm. the max unless you do a lot of travelling), you develop layers and LAYERS of lard, which act as a buffer protection zone for your precious organs :D
3. Randomly throwing guts at people is fun. Randomly throwing mountains of bone at people and breaking their spines is !FUN!

I sometimes throw mine to the poor.

That'd be nifty if I could butcher humans/elves/dwarves/gobbos in adventure mode.

2. Eating lots of meals every day (3 is norm. the max unless you do a lot of travelling)
I eat breakfast before travelling, stop in the middle of said travel at noon to eat lunch, and before sleeping for the night eat dinner.

But I didn't know this before now.

Forcefeed elf hearts to elves.
Improving diplomatic relations.
(Not kidding, that would actually induce peace between Dorfkind and Elfkind).

I just set eating sapients as accepted. Now I just need to mod in prion disorders and continue my brain-eating ways.
