The Conflict of Firewood

Our family demesne was attacked by mysterious forces that cut down few young trees on borders. Cut down so clumsily, and they just left them there, laying on the lawn. We had to remove them by force. But who could have done this? We blame electricians.



And so I armed myself with this beautiful gladius, and went to battle.



Imagine coming to your other household, and finding this on your grass. Savages! And they had branches on them, this is after the battle, when we chopped them all off.



It was long and exhausting struggle, but we did it. The trunks would be too hard to be chopped with a sword, so we used chainsaw. And proccessed them to firewood. Not that we needed extra firewood... And blackberries, freakin' blackberries! Their vines were all over these trees, thorny vines, stupid thorny vines! We got only minor hand injuries, fortunately. And then, we had glorious feast.

It was a neat day. Do you know the feeling, when you chop branches off trees with a gladius? It's grat.

Can't decide which one I like better: the non-shaded is nice and simple, the shaded has more depth.

Frankly I like the black-and-white, myself, but I wanted to see what the colors looked like.

Frankly I like the black-and-white, myself, but I wanted to see what the colors looked like.

He looks like he'd fit perfectly into a late 90s/early 00s western cartoon lol.

The variant with shadows/highlights? Ehh, not too bad, i've seen much worse shading.
But yeah IMO i find myself liking the unshaded one a bit more. But its nice either way.

In all seriousness : I prefer the flat colors in general. The highligts and shadows are properly placed, but the highlights feel a bit wrong. The skin is too reflective, and  the coat, assuming it's leather, maybe not enough. That's just my opinion tho, I love your drawing and I'll read your story now

Been a while since I posted anything here, it's all been going to Newgrounds or Deviantart (and what hasn't is waiting on two more full drawings to go up with it)



This was something a bit atypical for me. usually I draw artifacts of various kinds and other crap, but I felt inspired after watching one like, 10 second bit of Doors 4. But to be honest, I have no clue wtf I was even doing with this.

A friend even wrote a little thing to go with it.

His cold breaths wrapped around his cheeks as a mist in his run, eyes darting over his shoulder time and time again. He didn't know how far he'd run, but no matter how far he did, the tower was still in view. Watching silently as its call echoed through the desert.

They were still after him. He knew he couldn't escape, but his legs carried him anyways.

Run. Run. Run.

Running was the only thing people could do under their eyes.

We need more fables for children like Noggin. Reminds me a lot of Josef Lada, famous czech artist, and his unique drawing style.
