Well, that is just fucking awesome, both the beard and the painting! Two things though: The eye seems a bit too dark, and the other eye(socket) just kinda disappears behind the glass, though i'm almost sure that this is due to distortion caused by the glass (here assuming that you referenced a photo or reflection or something, but if not, holy shit). It just seems to me like if there wasn't a glass, the eye should be at least partially visible from this angle.

Yeah it's due to the lens distorting it, but even without it you'd see just a bit of the eyelid/lashes. Also the eye might be too dark, I may have ligthened up the whole thing a bit without takng the eye into account.

Looking good Arx, but you might wanna look into trying different brushes or textures for different parts of her. There's some of it going on but not enough imo, makes the whole thing look kinda like clay.

Anyways, I'm only two weeks late for the self portrait day but late is better than never I guess :V

Half-assed everything below the head and couldn't be arsed to think up an interesting colour scheme, but otherwise pretty happy with it.

Skeleton studies really helped me with hands, as well as studying their proportions. Things like the tip of the thumb not quite reaching the first knuckle of the index finger, the end of the thumb's base being more-or-less halfway across the palm, and so on. It doesn't help that much with rendering their form (;_;), but it does help with proportions. MY MITTEN HANDS ARE UNPARALLELLED! Pity about my non-mitten hands...

Yeppppppppp, can confirm, i hate having to do large shadows with pencil. That said, you've done pretty well! One thing i'd personally (so don't take this as a must-do or anything) like to see is a bit more exaggeration on the facial expression(s); you're already stylizing things, so why not take advantage of it? :v

@Arx: Definite improvement, you've gotten much better at the subtleties (ESPECIALLY compared to the 2015 one). The previous ones kinda fall into the uncanny valley, this newest one... Doesn't! So that's good. c:

Made a Fallout-style Sawblade Bat for a friend's birthday a few weeks ago.

Took about 6 hours to make. it felt really good in your hands. a heavy swing, but not too heavy that it's cumbersome. The stencil work for the logo is shoddy, but I feel it adds to the 'post apocalpyse fallout' quality.
