Arrows are definately better, but i'd personally change the arrowhead colour now to distingush them more readily from the shaft. That said, that's more a nitpick than anything.

The fuller in the blade seems a bit wonky, it doesn't correspond well to the blade shape, and it should probably shouldn't terminate at a 45' angle to the handle. That looks a bit odd. Much like the arrows, however, it does stand out against the robe much better.

Well, not really intended to be a fuller, more just a contrasting element. Also, I agree on the arrowheads but I had felt it best to not add another color to the palette

Well shit, that's some very nice shading on a cool design! My only issue would be that the mouth seems like it's just painted on to its head; i think the red inside the mouth is just too bright. Most things inside a barely open mouth like that would be nearly black, like it is further up the mouth. Also, i've found that making an indent in the outline where the mouth is helps quite a lot. :v

@Arx, do something about that hand of his, it looks like worms or sausages holding the spear :C
It's not so much that it's that anatomically incorrect but the shading on the knuckles implies that they're much deeper, almost seperate, giving the impression of inhumanly long fingers.
Also not sure how far into rendering you are but giving some distinction to materials would go a long way towards making it look more real, atm there's not much difference between skin, metal or leather, the simplest way to convey these things is like in real life, making the reflect differently, metals are pinpoint and sharp highlights (in most cases anyways), leather is rough and has somewhat diffuse reflective properties while skin is kinda the hardest to get right since it needs to do both specular and diffuse reflections to account for the semi-transparent properties as well as the oily nature of it.

Anyways, enough of theory! I have slowly started to get into it again, now that my new machine is all nice and set up for the most part, so have some random glistening things:

Shit, i have to explain myself. :v
Basically, the way you've drawn it makes it seem like the glow obstructs vision, and as such, looks more like a paint job. It's probably easier to just draw what i mean; instead of this, one possible way to do it could be this? I just kind of assumed that it's the insides that glow, so having the glow come from the throat seems like the obvious choice (... to me). Having all uncovered flesh (i.e. the insides of the mouth) be glowing is also a possibility, though that's kind of a more diffuse light source.

@Jopax: Thank you very much for the tips. I'm still trying to figure out how to actually manage a rougher-looking texture on the leather. I know exactly what you mean, I've just been struggling to make it happen. :/ And yeah, metal reflections should probably be cleaner. I was going for a battered look, but it didn't really pan out.

The fingers now look awful to me, so I'll see what I can do. Haaaands.
