Oh yeah the coat is neat, it actually looks like leather. One thing though, try varying the hue and saturation a little when it comes to shading. I know i'm guilty of it myself, but going solely with a darker version of the main colour tends to look fairly dull. It's usually mostly a case of picking a less saturated colour which is in line with the ambient light for the shadow, but there's probably more to it than i know. :v

Is that an alien flying fish?

So, I had this brush laying around in my offbrand photoshop's toolbar that I originally made for painting large quantities of those sproingy purple flower things. Decided to play around with said brush, because why not.

Sweet. For a first effort, I'm a fan of the low-poly look you have going on there. The colors aren't too bad...once you add a little more lighting I think that'll help mellow out things a bit.

The black borders around the grass is terrible, though. Is there any way you can fix that? Disabling anti-aliasing or modifying the texture in some way? I think you'd benefit from trying a low-resolution, low-poly look, too. It's an aesthetic I see a lot on TIGSource and I think it looks nice. Stuff like this.

I've been trying to find a way to get rid of the black borders on the grass, but Unity can be a real stingy bastard about that kind of stuff sometimes. I'm really digging that low-res art too.

I went back to my little spess cruiser, and I did manage to at least take the edge off the egg beater appearance. It'll do. Torpedoes fuelled, plotted and rearing to go!
