Why you're so good and where I can find the devil you sold your soul to?

It doesn't look ugly Shook, in fact I think it looks rather good. Maybe the arm motion is a little choppy, but the leg movement is very fluid.

Anyhow I made a few doodles

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I meant this one, i'm not a huge fan of how Flash works. :v
I kinda did mess up the arms a little on the non-Flash walking running ambulating animation, but eh, can't be bothered to fix that now. It does have the distinction of being the first actual animation i've made at 24 FPS, however. :P

also oh man those are some very nice doodles indeed

I sold my soul to Irshad Karim, great lord of the domain of http://drawabox.com/

Honestly its just three years of semi-serious undisciplined practice.

Like, all 15 chapters or so? Through environment sketching?

All of them bar "drawing every day objects"

Though I only sort of skimmed through the environment one.

Well, now I feel bad. I got to plants several months ago, then skipped to figure drawing and completely got distracted with RL stuff and never managed to get back there.

I value the practice more than the lessons. The lessons gave an excuse to practice - that's what's needed more than actual instruction. Not that I didn't value that as well, though. He did it brilliantly - I've bought books since but none of them are as good.

Spoiler: Charcoal lich (click to show/hide)

In view of the very valid criticism I received a while ago, I paid extra attention to form and consistency of perspective. More criticism is always welcome and appreciated.

I'm decently happy with it as it stands. I think the jaw could use some work and overall it would benefit from me figuring out how to get crisp lines in charcoal, but otherwise it's pretty okay.

I like the way you shaded light on the crown, and on the greebly bits on the shoulders and all that. The metallic shine and shadow is great! The perspective looks pretty solid too, excepting that the frog / clasp on the neckpiece and the nostrils look kinda skewed, and the teeth toward the receding half of the jaw flatten out horizontally instead of curving upward slightly. Feel the shape of your own jaw from left to right; remember that the jaw projects forward in a curve, and human teeth are arranged in an arc within the mouth! Anatomy is tricky and complicated, but it's a good skill to practice when drawing living/unliving things.

Only other critique I've got is that skeletal structures (skulls and such) tend to have fairly sharp edges. The forms of the skull look really smooth; almost like gross corpsified skin stretched over a skeleton; it's a great look, but I'm not sure that was the intended look.

Thanks a ton for sharing this! I like it a lot.
