Spoiler: City on a Hill (click to show/hide)
This actually reminds me of Grow Home a lot, and that is absolutely not a bad thing. I kind of wish that game had a city like this to climb around on. :v

also i added more stuff to the last sketchy page i posted so

Spoiler: SKETCHESSSSS (click to show/hide)

Tried a different head design for the dragon than what i usually do, which i think is somewhat inspired by either Disney or Pixar. I'm not quite sure. :P (also obligatory floof)

You need to increase the opacity or something. They're hard to see.

Lowering the brightness and upping the contrast somewhat should fix that issue for him.

Switching from a white background to midtone gray might help lower the contrast, too.

Toned paper is more expensive and harder to get than shuffling some sliders around :D

Edit:

Alternatively, he can also put the scanned thing on a layer set to multiply and then place a full gray layer underneath and it would have much the same effect.

was looking at some stuff i did last week. this was proof of concept for another project i imagined while i was doing that Spacesim prototypes. not much to say, the main concept around this was a 2D sidescrolling survival game, in the veins of terraria but a little bit more extensive.

so yeah, this was a concept for the world generation, the idea was that the planet could be large enough to contain at least 3 landmasses with variable geography like mountains, mesas, and even volcanoes. in terms of biome generation, the poles would be located at the edges while the tropics would be in the center. in terms of altitude, the world would be separated in several layer divided in set tiles in height, they are:

You too could do with stronger lines xaritscin. Consider some post processing as described earlier or maybe even inking the map with a pen of some sort so it's easier to see.

Anyways, have a moody mood piece:

Niiiiiiiice. I've always admired your sceneries, this is no exception. :D

Also re: unclear lines, that's totally just because i sketch very lightly. Fortunately, i can just open up Levels and go like doink and then you can see everything i did wrong, including the millions of times i erased the axe head. :v

tried to hit again onto the sprites for the tiles of the sidescroller game, it may look a little bit better than the first ones. still, im not really convinced yet with its design. this is the base dirt tile, i also have to make the non grass version and the corner version.

Drawabox is very good. I also recommend Sycra's videos on YouTube. He gives a very interesting intellectual perspective on drawing and breaks down a lot of concepts.
