Considering he called it a splice, I'd say no. However, I don't recognize most of the parts, so I'd say a lot of it is from scratch.

Stuff from the Aurora 4x thread over in the "Other Games" subforum. I made these. First image was something I made in response to someone talking about how they got jumped by some big, strong ships when they least expected it. Second image was me just giving an update on what's been happening during my save.

None of it's from scratch. It's three? different mugs chopped up and combined, recoloured, and resized, but that one contains no unique assets (bar the tattoo). I do have mugs that have a bit of unique stuff, but mostly I just butcher the actual works.

Well if we're sharing FEF avatars, I might as well share mine. Some of you guys already saw it if you saw me apply for an old 5E DnD game but for the majority of you, this will be quite fresh.

Probably some of my proudest splicing work (I have to admit), but now when I look back on it, I see a few parts where the clipping is very clear.

Well, it's the trend... a couple for characters, a couple for a game I'm planning out. Yes, two of them use the same head, but it's a relatively easy to splice one so *shrug*

Work continues on my (still unnamed) Creative Commons Roguelike Tileset. Here are a few of my favorites sprites I've recently drawn:

Very cool! I love how immediately readable your silouette is. Not a fan of the gradient background, though. If a gray background is what you want, I'd go for a misty backdrop or something.

My favorite is the giant guy. Or maybe the cloaked fellow's just short.

It could be a normal man, with the cloaked hobbit next to a fairly large dog. Also, I laughed harder at the Aurora summary collages than I probably should have.

In other news, I've been trying to work from reference. Here's attempt 3:

Left is a sketch in fineliners, right was sketched in fineliners and completed with a brush pen. The horns are all like whaaaaaaat but I'm mainly just thrilled it came out somewhat symmetrical at this point.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

Yeah, like you say, it's got a couple of issues, but at least it makes a nice chance than the average FEF character :P

There seems to be lose pixels between the loose strings of the headband in 2, and the neck join near the ear in 4 is a bit odd. In four you could probably nix the pony tail and replace it with a different one to make it less 'Lyn's head on X body'.
Aside from that, they seem to work, yeah.

I'd personally recommend trying to add a bit more to the faces if you're going to reuse them. A scar, tattoo, or unique makeup can go a long way in making it more distinctive.

Sun shines, birds fly, forum games die. It's the way of the world, alas.

The pixels where the hair overlaps the eyepatch? Half-mask? are a little bit odd looking to me, but that might just be me. Otherwise, it's pretty competently done, far as I can tell.

Another splice of mine:

I did intend to give him glasses, but he's got enough details going on he'd probably look cluttered.

If you made his glasses opaque it wouldn't be too much of a problem. Also make it contrast with the overall red to make it stand out, if you wanted to make his glasses stand out.

Woops. Sorry. I'm currently on mobile and didn't want to undertake the massive ordeal of trying to delete the rest of the text that I didn't need cus' of the quote button. I guess I swiped too far up after finding the line and saw heydude and assumed they typed it.
