Work for a possible upcoming ISG, on the central character models.

Hmmm, anyone know of any good ISGs done in 1st person view?

Spoiler: Oh dear (click to show/hide)

Well, that brings my plans for the ISG down a bit. Anyone got any advice for drawing humans with a graphics tablet? Not necessarily realistic, but not uncanny valley either. My stuff seems randomly bloated and I can't decide on a smooth or scrappy style.

Do a bunch of these: http://www.quickposes.com/gestures/challenges
Not necessarily with a tablet, anything you're comfortable with will do. Try to get the proportions of the body right more than anything else. Once the proportions are right you shouldn't have much trouble filling in the details from reference or something.

So in short, proportions, figure those out and you should be fine for the most part.

Yeah, definitely get your proportions.
You can get these posable wooden mannequins to help with poses - you might those helpful if you want to draw people in action and proportion.

I have one of these - it's pretty handy, but make sure you get a good one. The joints on mine tend to slowly (or sometimes quickly) slide back to being straight.

The other thing I did that really helped nail how people tend to pose naturally and how the proportions work was spend several afternoons in a library sketching pretty much everyone and everything. Oh yeah, and studying anatomy and skeletons.

That looks pretty good!  Though I was a bit confused about the puncher's torso, since to me it looks like we're seeing the back of his right arm's shoulder.  The punchee looks like he just got knocked out instantly and is in the middle of Rag-dolling HL2 style.
I don't know why but when something is replaced with the word of it, it's hilarious.

It's a coin-toss on whether or not we're going to continue our game of Fate, but for the time being, I got a creative impulse, and decided to render a scene close to the end of the story arc (or story overall).

Here's Roman Howard's (made after my SS-13 character; even his backstory is SS-13-related) ship, the "Aloha" (An AWACS ship; since he's also a back-alley chemist on the side, before the adventure began; and he prefers to see a threat and avoid it, than directly deal with it. It came handy in our adventures) escaping a space liner (we were in the cargo hold when we escaped), while it's (along with the city we're leaving) under attack from a rebel freedom force/terrorist group (don't remember which, but they were hostile towards us, and we were hitting the high road, so survival was all I was caring about).

EDIT:
I realized this isn't exactly what happened, but is rather a combination of scenes. Escaping the space liner under attack (different craft at the time), and the city escape (with my ship, and another tagging along).

EDIT EDIT:
Speaking of SS-13, my avatar is footage from when being a quartermaster got the best of him, and he stole a chicken suit, and flooded the escape shuttle with chickens, and danced with them all the way to safety, when the inevitable end came along. He was extremely drunk at the time. (Actually, it's from Speedrunners. They just look alike.)

What are you talking about, that thing is perfect! I especially love the punching guy's face, and the fact that the other one have the word "fist" instead of  his fists. It's comedy gold.

snip

That thing is awesome, you're much better at drawing spaceships than me.

Sadly nothing new from me today, blame my lazy ass for that. It's not that I don't have anything to draw, I've got so many requests in the other thread. I should really get back to it, do you guys have any tips for that? I can't ever seem to get the motivation to draw.

Funny enough, I was feeling lazy when I made that. I guess I operate on the other side of the coin (or rather, the ridges). I do my best art when I feel lazy, than when I actually work on it. Funny that. I guess that's how I roll.

My motivation is to do it as free time. Schedule the work as free time. Basically, pass the buck where procrastination is concerned.
