I was playing some Dyad recently, and then it dawned on me. Why did this game feel so familiar to me when I first played it?

And yes, it does have knights. In fact, it arose as a side effect as one of the players featuring the knights of Cydonia in his backstory, as a blatant muse reference. Then the backstory got interesting enough to justify said blatant reference, and a city state was made.

Though for reference - whilst they're all technically part of the same kingdom, Cydonia, Alfar, and Thasakris were all once separate nations until militarily united under Cydonia, and they still retain some degree of independence despite having no formal nation status. The Dwarves of the Deep Halls joined willingly in return for the trade, given that they were situated in the middle and didn't have much choice.

The grey plains and northern wastes mark the edges, with the city in the lower left being a surface city of Drow known as 'The City of Canopies' of mysterious purpose. The wall to the North predates the nations and towers over the land beneath, with few stories about what lies beyond agreeing. And there's the desert that just creeps onto the eastern edge which is most likely due to some sort of magic at that latitude and not because I briefly forgot how geography works.
