This. It needs more shading and shadows to match the detail on the scarf better.

Not sure whether this would make it better or not. It would certainly fit, given the smoke from the orb, but it might screw up the torso's shading.
Give it a try, but be ready to revert it, I'd say.

My own thing is that his posture doesn't suggest floating, but the length of his skirt-thing does, especially in the back/sides. I'd either lengthen out the back of it or try adding feet sticking out underneath. But again, trying to match the existing shading might be difficult.

At least i feel better after getting it out on a canvas. Regular sadness is probably the emotion that i've drawn the least so far, if one discounts the Uberwangst^TM things i've drawn before (since they're a stronk mixture of bad feels instead of only sadness). I also don't expect to be drawing a lot of non-comical sad faces, since they tend to be... Well, sad.

I haven't drawn seriously in a while. A long while. A vinesauce binge of Tomagatchi Life inspired me. Made fanart of the vinesauce mii character "Cling-on". She's kinda sorta similar to a klingon but not really. Like not at all. Except maybe the ridge thing she has for a nose.

Not done yet. Quite like how it came out so far though. Proportions seem good, general shape seems good. Shading seems to give the idea of the light source. Quite like how the head and the facial area came out. It actually resembles what I was going for in my head.

Listened to "Godspeed You! Black Emperor" while working on it. Took me maybe an hour total. 20 minutes doing the lineart, rest of the time shading it/graying it in. Maybe I'll go back and try to clean up the lineart sometime. Damn, Godspeed You! Black Emperor is sooooo chill I forgot how great it is.

I feel like the hand emitting smoke is kinda unclear on its purpose is it emitting smoke or is it's purpose to emit somekind of magical spells?

I saw the ponytail and was like "wait, should I say he or she" but then I was like "well swordsman is a relatively gender neutral noun right I'll say that" and uh yeah whoops. Also I thought they were ruffles in the fabric of the clothing. >.>

So anyway, drew a thing. Alienish-elfish-humanoid tomboy girl with a ponytail character concept...thing.

I think it came out pretty swell. Final lines are much cleaner than past work. I found that using the gray shading I've been doing and then putting an overlay allowed me to just block in colors on the overlay layer, which in this case meant make everything cyan. Really easy way to add color while maintaining the different shades and lights.

Took me maybe an hour to get it all done then maybe half an hour of nitpicking and cleaning up coloring that went outside the lines. Listened to post-rock while working on it, was chill.
