Guys, I need help. There's a comic/webcomic I've wanted to make for ages but I've never got around to do it. I've tried twice, once on paper but I kinda gave up because I never have the occasion to draw on paper and another time on the computer with a mouse, but I abandoned because it looked horrible. I'm getting a drawing tablet this weekend, but I'm also getting kinda good with pixel art and I have no idea if I want to do drawing or pixels. Any suggestion on which to choose?

Can we have examples of each?

I can't really show a drawing because I don't have my tablet yet, But I'll post a example of the style I want to do in pixel art as soon as I have finished it.

It also depends on the effort. While pixel art can look really nice it can also take a long time to do properly whereas drawing tends to be more straightforward, but it also takes more time to get to a nice and presentable skill level.

So keep that in mind, it'd be a shame for you to start a comic and then give up shortly thereafter because it takes too much time and effort to complete a single panel.

I see a bullet hole in a concrete wall, with two laser sights aimed slightly above, about to make two more holes. When I try to see the face, I do, though, and it's proper creepy.

looks like an evil seamonster critter or an octopus with a mouth in the wrong place. Dunno why.
Both are the same and done really nicely too!

So it's not just me who sees the octopus?

Here's how the pixel art version would kinda look like. I went with a minimalist style because doing anything more complex would be a pain in the *** in the long term. I do have plans to improve the art style as the story advance and I get more used to drawing the comic though.
I'm not sure if I would be able to recreate the shading with the tablet, but I'd be able to add more details to the characters.

Got more Minecrafting done. Also updated the graphics pack to something far better to work with, and look at, for these. I love the style. It especially works well with the castle.

Here are the updates to my Wanderer's Paradise (Caution: A few/many pictures):

Spoiler: Central Hub: (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Sand Castle: (click to show/hide)

I love that both clubs have their own entrance/exits, and also meet up at the middle (dance club: The Boiling Point), which are also so close, yet so far apart; and they share the scenery of the floor display next to the dining room and pond/spa. The Watering Hole has the water part visible, and The Fire-Pit has the magma part visible. None can spot each other. That entire underground club, along with the open-roof swimming pool (especially when raining at night; Thank Nimrod and Luna for your help), both have to be my favorite features of this place so far.

~snip

The sand castle looks great! It gives a very homely feeling, something I wasn't expecting from a place made out of sand. The halls you showed in the first few screenshots (second to fifth ones) look a bit bare though, do you plan to add anything to them?

Some more stuff for Awaken, this time some traditional sketches of the big guys (you can spot some teeny tiny people on them). Done with a brush pen and some pencils combo ^^
