Poster with the protagonist. It's surprising how striking this is.

The title screen. Especially proud of this one. The random flashes were meant to be full-color images, but due to the way Aseprite works, the palette was limited to varying shades of red and black... I think the effect is pretty neat! Especially since it's all meant to imitate a ZX spectrum.

The protagonist talking in an RPG style portrait. The style I was going for is paying off pretty well. It's distinctive enough while being fairly easy to draw.

The portraits are just lines. Is it supposed to be like that? Also I can see where you drew some random lines on the flashing images.

Both of those are... intentional? I think? Are the lines in a shape of a face in the portraits?

The latter two are entirely correct. They're meant to look vandalized (Hence the stinklines and the goofy drawn-on expressions), stupid, and badly stretched.
As for the first one, I'll take that on board.

Just making sure! I thought the scratched out faces type thing was what you were going for but I couldn't be sure you didn't upload a version of the .gif where you were goofing around (because I do that all the time). Also: Aseprite-five! Woo! \o/

Are there any useful guidelines for drawing children?

the trick to children is that they have big heads for their bodies try googling child head to body ratio for some examples

More tablet practice. I don't get how other people seem to get such clean/smooth, marker-like lines. Is there a brush dynamic for it, or does it just need oodles of practice?

I find that a combination of zoom and working in higher resolutions and then shrinking everything down later helps lots. I don't particularly like the smooth stroke tool, since it lags a bit and feels a bit like a crutch that will slow my improvement.

Interesting, considering it's quite a vibrant red. Have you tried looking at it through a different computer? It might be the monitor or the image not loading properly.
Can anyone else judge the images? I am beginning to wonder if I have gone mad, I swear these were vague but definite outlines of a human person before, but now I'm not sure. To hell with eyes.

Well, i can see how it would be vague face, but i can also see how it would look like a small fountain of red lines. If you don't already know that it's supposed to be a face, then it could be quite hard to see, though. The two others serve their purpose of being vandalized, although it's fairly hard to make out any details of the first one (with the "stink lines"). I'm guessing that this is also intentional, given exactly how much noise there is. :v

The first one really just needs a chin and facial features. The third one could use a chin, too. A neck wouldn't hurt.

As for the second one, it's interesting, but... what's the context? In fact, what's the context for all of these? It might help everything make more sense.
