I always feel weird posting in these things because I'm such a long-term lurker and no one really knows me but whatever, I have seniority on my side ;V I'm enjoying the track I just made a bit more than others because it's the genesis of a bunch of different techniques I've recently learned to put to work in other things.

I like it. It's very mellow and chill; just because I love the color, though, doesn't mean that I automatically have to like it. On it's own merits, it's a sort of atmouspheric music that would very much make sense playing in the background of a more minimal-esque or exploration oriented game; Minecraft comes to mine, but it would for a game in the style of Endless Ocean or something based on camping in the wild.

Or maybe Camp Australia Simulator.

Thank you Mellow/chill is what I was going for, I just don't know what people's tolerances for that sort of drone is, whether I overdid it or not, whether some of the dissonance is too much... I know the EQ and mixing is bad for anything but headphones, but I've pretty much devoted myself to headphone music. So just the usual music-y doubts.

Listening to it, I'm envisioning an art game that uses this track after activating a generator that begins the (real) game, like a waterwheel, at least. So, Intro level theme or something.

Indeed they do.

I went ahead and tried to make the shadows REALLY DARK. Turns out that it works nicely this way.

Bought myself a copy of Monaco: What's Yours Is Mine Collector Edition.

It was only a fiver, but I'm not terribly happy about buying it.
That's mostly because I'm supposed to be saving money, though, and then I end up impulsively buying things anyway.
