Yeah... what started off as a base idea that my art teacher had us do, turned into something that I started to sell for a bit of change.

I am sure most of my school has lost faith in humanity by the people who are buying my picture.
Also, that is me.
No drugs.
No alcohol.
Just why I don't sit near cameras... I WILL make faces.

... maybe the camera was on drugs? Because that does look like an acid trip. :v

I kinda figured it just looked kinda funny
no offense, just thought it was kind of silly
None taken bro, don't worry. :v

I just had to make sure that it was painfully obvious what the hell i was trying to do with those extra lines, since i do realize that it's a fairly cluttered animation. And that's AFTER cleaning it up, mind you. :P

Hmm, shiny. They look pretty nice.

Me and some friends are planning to make an aluminum-melting foundry this summer, so I've started making plans for a knife to be cast. It probably won't be very functional, of course, since it'll be cast, not forged, but hopefully it'll look cool.

I'm not sure whether I should put anything on the crossguard. Originally I wasn't going to, but then I thought it might be cool to stamp the word "INVICTVS" onto it (note: did the Romans actually write U's the same as V's?). Alternatively, I could keep the Celtic knot theme that's going on with the handle and sheath and put one of those on it. What do you guys think?
I also started making a sheath. After a somewhat failed attempt at a wooden one, I decided to make a burned-leather one instead. I practiced burning the design onto a messed-up piece of leather (I didn't notice the printed numbers on the side shown), and I think it's looking pretty good.

The handle will be wooden, so I drew up a design to burn onto that, too.

"INVICTVS" onto it (note: did the Romans actually write U's the same as V's?)

My experience of the far fringes of modern English suggests that it may be "INUITVS". I'd go with just "INVICTUS", myslef, but it's up to you.

Well, I've read a huge book on Roman history, language, architecture and everything just recently and I can confirm that they really did. And that it caused a lot of problems. And that some of the emperors tried to introduce some new letters into practice...

Though Arx seems to be more competent authority on etymology.

Hah, no. I've just read some stories in pretty much the oldest English that's still technically Modern English.

In Classical Latin it made sense to represent both a vowel and a consonant with V because the consonant form was originally /w/, which is just the consonant version of /u/; it's the exact same reason they used I the same way. As the sound it represented shifted to /v/ the double usage no longer made sense, but was stubbornly kept for a long time because it looked Roman. Meanwhile, normal people writing languages other than Latin realized they could split it into two, hence U and V.
