Was at a bit of a loss for todays spitpaint (had an idea for the Deadly Flower but I just couldn't get trough with it) until I realised that I haven't drawn grimdork in a long while, so why the feck not. Put on some awesome music from Dawn of War and started painting

I'm having fun imagining the giant statue popping to life and going all stompy smashy on the little fellows at its feet.

Make matters worse, I misread that as in Doctor Who's Weeping Angels. So, I best advise you keep an eye on them so that doesn't happen behind your back.

Well, that makes 5 (again, assuming Jopax) so if no one makes a thread, i'll make one later today or tomorrow.

Yeah I put that on the backburner for the past week, otherwise I'd have started the thing myself. Anyways. I had a rough guideline of how the whole thing would look like that I'd been toying with in my head.

We'd start off the first week or two with linework and perspective drills, working on making things look right without any values. Then we'd move to value, light and colour for a whle. Next would come the slightly more abstract and difficult to explain and learn right away, concepts of composition, design, storytelling and the like.

So I guess we'd be doing a study or several for each of the focuses and then trying to create our own piece using what we learned.

That sound good to you guys?

Sure thing, I'll write it all up and find some nice sources and whatnot that'll be handy in explaining stuff. Expect it tommorrow afternoon since I'll spend most of the morning travelling/in class.

So I was screwing around with Alchemy, and I made this...er...thing:

I named it Majora Fhtagn, due to similarities to a character from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask whose name I can't remember. I want to say he was in that bar that you could get into on the third day.

Anyway. I did a thing.

Just a sketch based off a screenshot I took of some anime *cough*Kill la Kill*cough* because anime is slowly consuming my life. Also because it's an enjoyable warmup exercise thing.. I always liked anime-style, if only because it looks nice without looking overly realistic, so I can draw without trying desperately to get it AS REAL LOOKING AND PERFECT AS POSSIBLE as I might otherwise try vainly to do in pencil. Also also, expressions are fun.

doing this made me realize how I out of touch I am with drawing stuff. My lines were shakier than I'd like, and it came out messier than I'd prefer, but it's only a sketch anyway. It was fun to restrict myself to gray tones, and I learned some stuff about shading via layers. In hindsight the mouth is slightly smaller than it should be, so the expression is off, but by the time I realized it I couldn't redraw it without having to reshade some stuff too. Figured I'd leave it as is.

Took about an hour, listened to Animals as Leader's self-titled album while doing it.
