Clothes (made of grass, of course!) are on the list of things to do, but making all those lines burnt me out for now. Also, his coloring is a little off, though I can't put my finger on what needs fixing.

Maybe a bit more saturation? Just a bit, though, and you might only want to change one of the colors. Not sure which, though.

Ah, yes. A little fiddling with the colors and increasing the saturation has made it better.
edit: with the mention of Game of Thrones, how could I not make a weirwood colored tree man?

A copper and nickel mokume gane pendant. It's made by 'sweating' the two metals together in the forge.

It's pretty much just brazing

After the stack of metal is brazed together it's then flattened, and then patterns are carved or drilled through the layers and flattened again. Folding the billet or twisting it can also produce different patterns.
The biggest problem with mokume is that the layers will delaminate is worked to cold, or if it just hates you.

That's damn cool. How expensive is a home forge/metalwork to set up? I've always been really interested in metalworking.
