Hey, that actually is not terrible. Torso shape might be a little bit asymmetric, but everything seems to fit together okay and kinda makes sense. Good improvement.

From my expirience nothing can replace pen&paper for that essential expirience, even if you do want to go fully digital, you can't go without the basics. While it's not a terrible idea I'd certainly continue doing classical drawings on paper, along with digital (which imho is more geared towards painting than actual drawings).

Also I think I'm going to be getting one of those cheaper Intuos tablets by the end of the year, the current one is slowly giving up on me so it'll be nice to have an alternative.

Anyways, another piece, this time a study of sorts, since my landscapes and clouds are somewhat lacking in certain areas, this was pretty damn fun and relaxing to do:

Loosely based on the works of this awesome dude.

I've got a Wacom Bamboo. Not as fancy as the intuos, as it's got 1/2 the sensitivity and only two buttons (on the pen) but it works real well for around $80.

Thanks for all the advice, folks! I'll always use pencil & paper because they're portable, but not having to bother with a dying scanner has its own appeal. I'll keep an eye on the bamboo tablets; they're exactly what I was looking for.

@Shook, I'm learning from Loomis, guilty as charged. :) Thanks for the encouragement as well. I've lurked your portfolio and really the style. Hatfish!

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

Tooting around in SAI still, played with the brushes and textures. So cool.

I think this is the only thread that I still follow closely.  It's fun to see what everyone is doing. :3

About drawing with tablets:

The resolution is probably going to be much lower than with physical media.   In order to adjust, I've found that using lower opacity on the brush, as well as adjusting the size, can keep the strokes looking like strokes, instead of blotches.  Line weight seems to become much more important to conscious of.  In physical media, controlling line weight is more intuitive, and more motor skill based.  Digital line weight has to be controlled very deliberately, by using the menu or hot keys.

In GIMP and Photoshop, "[" and "]" will adjust brush size.  On a 2k by 2k image, I've been using a size 7 brush for my main lines, and finer lines are between 3 and 5.  I use the finer ones for subtle details, texture, or shadows.

I've been working on another design in the same file as my previous one.  I haven't settled on some things, like how to deal with Heraldry in their fantasy setting, which has many historic aesthetics, but isn't historically based.  Uniforms seem to have been non-existent during the middle ages, and I'm trying to figure out the extent to which I want them to exist in this setting.

Oh man, that is looking crazy good, Ogdibus! I'm assuming the person on the right is a human? Because that would make a whole lot of sense. c:

Isn't there some kind of pokeball blowgun in one of the games? Or a pokeball bow? I think it's in the card game.

Right now I'm imagining the reaction of that Grandpa in Viridian City:
Back in my day we didn't have fancy pancy Pokéball blowguns. We had to throw our Pokéballs by hand. Try to imagine that you youngsters. But granded throwing Balls at your Zekrons and Reshirawhatnots and hundreds others can get tiring, no wonder you invented Pokéball throwing gadgets. I miss my wife.
