Of course these are tibethan buddhist nuns, fighting against the evil of public schooling and modern hospitals, and continue to have a ridiculously good PR with western governments !

I finally "finished" my first three comic pages. Not as good as I had hoped (I should go slower and thumbnail more in the future), but it's like they say "It's the job that's never started as takes longest to finish."  For now, I'm just happy I've actually made some content--though I'm hoping I can improve it sooner rather than later.

If you truly believe that then you lack imagination.
I think it's pretty clear that he's saying in his setting that holy water doesn't harm demons. That's not a lack of imagination that's just a rule that isn't as exciting as it might be in other fiction. It's not the first time that trope has been rejected/subverted in fiction.

And reasonably, holy water is used to baptise children, and give them the superpower of being able to marry in a church and to be burried into a christian cimetary after their death. Also it's a requirement for heaven. But yeah, unless you want to baptise demons, holy water ain't very useful in christian folklore. I belive it's a modern invention by new age exorcists, but don't quote me on that, I just remember stories of saints and they don't need anything but their presence to do the feat

Edit : My bad, holy water was used for exorcisms after the XVIth century. Amusingly, they say it works better with added salt.

Also have a WIP so this post is not 100% bullshit

Spoiler: 45s Gestures (click to show/hide)

The image is incredibly huge because I like to be able to make a lot of sketches without faffing with layers etc. There's nothing to be gained by zooming in.

Five more pages, ugh. Have you ever notice that the closer you get to the finish line, the harder it gets?

Also, couldn't sleep, so I drew my Kenshi character. That's a good game. I mean ok good, but quite original universe.

Spoiler: WE ARE WATCHING (click to show/hide)
Yes, it's related to the World State (the flag of which I posted earlier).

Ministry of Knowledge: Controls scientific research. Also hosts gigantic knowledge databases (kind of like Wikipedia, but bigger).
Ministry of Benevolence: Suppresses riots. Also controls the state police.
Ministry of Production: Chooses what to produce. Also keeps corporations in check.
Ministry of Economy: Manages the economy. Also collects taxes.
Ministry of Information: Controls the mass media. Also makes propaganda.
Ministry of Art: Makes state-produced entertainment. Also hosts gigantic art archives (kind of like TVTropes, but bigger).

I have ideas for Ministry of Knowledge (test tube/flask), Art (a book or movie film), and Production (a factory), but I have no idea for the others. Can you help a bit?

Economy: Gold bullion/silver bullion? Coins?
Benevolence: An angel in chains? :P Guns, munitions. Depends just how "benevolent" they want to appear.
Information: A laptop, maybe? Dunno, hard to symbolise. Maybe a symbol like a crown with the word "Information" beneath? That's what seems to have been the Mi5 way.

Benevolence is an eye, as in the image.

Oh, and Information is not like the Mi5 (that would be Benevolence). They're more like the Ministry of Truth from 1984.

Aw what the heck. This is my android character, they breed things in their stomach, and they have interchangeable body parts. I made them look way too organic in this, they look like they had amputated limbs, I need to have another go at this where they seem more like an android than a cyborg, I'm struggling with how to draw their insides and the limb sockets in a way that looks interesting to me

Spoiler: WARNING: body horror (click to show/hide)

I wasn't sure if showing the crotch was inappropriate, because they don't have genitals (which is the point), but it's a crotch so... slaps sticker on page
